What causes an enlarged spleen in women?

Splenomegaly is one of the main pathological clinical symptoms. Since the liver is inside the human body, we cannot touch it, but if we can feel the edge of the spleen when lying on our side, it can generally be identified as splenomegaly. Enlarged spleen volume is also one of the main symptoms of spleen disease. Some patients with splenomegaly may also have anemia, enlarged liver or lymph nodes and other symptoms. So what is the reason why women have an enlarged spleen?

Splenomegaly can be seen in acute infection, hemolytic anemia, heart failure, sepsis, cirrhosis, rheumatism, sparganosis infection and other diseases. You can go to a regular hospital's surgical department for medical examination and use medication after a confirmed diagnosis. Pay attention to rest, prevent fatigue, avoid eating irritating foods, try not to drink or smoke, and eat less high-calorie and high-fat foods. Eat more nutritious vegetables and fresh fruits.

What are the symptoms of female spleen enlargement?

When the outer edge of the spleen is about 2-3 cm below the rib margin during inhalation, it can be identified as mild splenomegaly. This condition often occurs in bacterial infection, congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, etc. Mild to moderate splenomegaly means that the outer edge exceeds 3 cm below the rib margin. Chronic hemolytic anemia and malignant lymphoma can also cause mild to moderate splenomegaly. Extreme splenomegaly means that the outer edge exceeds below the umbilicus level. This condition is also called splenomegaly. Chronic dengue fever and advanced schistosomiasis can also cause this condition.

The spleen caused by different causes is different in color. Generally, the spleen caused by acute infection is softer in color, while the spleen caused by chronic infection is uneven in surface, and generally has a fuller feeling than intractable splenomegaly. Cystic swelling also has a cystic feel, and the surface is often uneven.

Splenomegaly can also cause patients to develop anemia, jaundice and other symptoms. Splenomegaly caused by malignant lymphoma is often accompanied by enlargement of the liver and lymph nodes. Chronic viral hepatitis or cirrhosis can cause liver disease appearance and even symptoms such as spider nevi. Splenomegaly caused by typhoid fever and sepsis is often accompanied by various rashes. Edema, ascites and cardiac dilatation also often occur during the course of splenomegaly.
