Why do women have high testosterone levels?

Many friends will be surprised about the existence of androgen in women's bodies. In fact, everyone's body has estrogen, and estrogen is composed of female hormones and androgens. Androgen exists in women's bodies and is a necessary substance for women's sexual desire, promoting the development of women's reproductive health. However, it is often found that women's testosterone levels are too high, which seriously affects women's pregnancy and causes infertility.

Why do girls have high testosterone levels?

1. 60% of testosterone is tightly bound to beta-protein in the blood, called testosterone-estradiol fusion blood protein (TEBG), about 38% (mainly androstenedione) is fused with human albumin, and free testosterone accounts for only 2%, but it has specificity. If the estradiol fusion of TEBG increases and the fusion testosterone decreases, the free testosterone in the blood will increase.

Second, because of excessive metabolism of the ovary or adrenal glands.

Third, it may also be caused by abnormal jugular vein conversion.

4. Hyperglargine insulinuria caused by insulin resistance can stimulate the uterus and ovaries to metabolize a lot of male hormones.

5. The enzyme system is disordered during the production of steroid hormones. For example, if aromatase is deficient, androstenedione cannot be converted into estrone, and testosterone cannot be converted into estradiol, resulting in excessive accumulation of androstenedione, especially testosterone.

Generally, obese patients have more male hormones. The reasons for the high level of male hormones in women's bodies are mainly due to changes in dietary structure, increased psychological pressure, and environmental factors. This causes an imbalance in the sex gland metabolism in women's bodies, a gradual increase in testosterone levels, and suppression of estrogen levels. Excessive secretion of male hormones in the body can cause obesity, excessive hair growth, infertility, acne, menstrual irregularities and other symptoms in patients, and even lead to the manifestation of masculine characteristics.

Symptoms of excessive androgen metabolism in women:

1. No pregnancy. The human body contains estrogen and androgen. However, androgens account for a very small part. Some women have excessive androgen metabolism, which causes female hormone imbalance. Will excessive androgen metabolism in women cause infertility? For most people with high androgen levels, the chances of getting pregnant are of course very low.

2. Polycystic ovary syndrome. If testosterone is at too high a level for a long time and estrogen levels are too low, it will suppress the level of follicle-stimulating hormone, causing the ovarian follicles to fail to develop and mature, fail to ovulate, and produce cystic eggs, eventually leading to polycystic ovaries.
