Does red blood streak mean sensitive skin?

Many people think that if red blood streaks appear on the face, it means the skin is sensitive. So does red blood streaks on the face mean sensitive skin? We all know that sensitive skin is caused by a thin stratum corneum of the skin. When exposed to external stimuli, it causes capillary dilation and the appearance of red blood streaks, but the red blood streaks are short-lived and the blood vessels will recover. Next, let’s take a closer look at this topic.

Facial red blood streaks, also known as facial capillary dilation, refers to the phenomenon that the stratum corneum is damaged and the natural protective barrier is lost, the skin suffers from external irritation and capillary dilation, or the skin's congenital capillaries are superficial, and sensitive skin is overly tense and red blood streaks appear.

Although facial redness is also a type of sensitive skin and is similar to sensitive skin, they are not the same. Today we will talk in detail about the causes of red blood streaks on the face.

The causes of facial red bloodshot can be roughly divided into two types, primary and secondary. Primary means hereditary and is generally rare. Most of the facial red blood streaks are secondary, that is, non-hereditary, and can be mainly divided into the following categories:

1. Environmental irritation, plateau climate, long-term sandstorms, thin air, strong ultraviolet light, and low oxygen content in the body lead to an increase in the number of blood cells and compensatory vascular dilation. Over time, vascular contraction function is impaired, resulting in permanent capillary dilation, which is what we often call "plateau redness".

2. Growth hormone-dependent capillary dilation. Long-term use of skin care products containing growth hormone affects the basal metabolism of some skin, reduces the elasticity of capillaries, increases the flexibility of capillaries, causes the skin barrier function to decrease, and the capillaries expand and contract, which can easily cause red blood streaks.

3. Improper skin care methods, heavy metal pollution in skin care products, damage to acid and alkaline ingredients, hormone dependence, and improper fruit acid treatment can all cause damage to the skin barrier and cause local inflammation; frequent facial exfoliation can damage the skin's protective surface, soften the epidermis, and cause red blood cell infiltration, which can also cause facial redness.

4. Unhealthy lifestyle, spicy food addiction, overwork and picky eating, long-term high and low temperature testing working environment, and large temperature difference in the body are also one of the reasons for red bloodshot on the face.
