Pictures of white lesions on the vulva

Private white degeneration includes private white lesions, vulvar leukoplakia or private malnutrition. In the past, it was believed to be an imbalance in vascular nutrition. However, with further understanding of the disease, the above changes have not been found. It is just a degeneration of melanin and metastatic disease in the skin and mucous membrane tissues of the private parts.

Because the private skin and mucous membranes of patients with lichen sclerosus and squamous cell hyperplasia are mostly milky white, it is called private parts milky white disease, which belongs to the non-neoplastic changes in the private parts epithelial cells. Lichen sclerosus and squamous cell hyperplasia have changed their names several times in different eras due to different understandings of their clinical medicine and pathology. They were originally called vulvar leukoplakia, leukoplakia vulvitis, vulvar degeneration, hyperplastic or atrophic vulvitis, neurodermatitis, and sclerosing atrophic lichen.

Due to confusion in the name of the disease, in 1975 the International Society for the Study of Sexual Vaginal Diseases (ISSVD) referred to it as "chronic vaginal malnutrition." In recent years, the understanding of non-neoplastic changes in private epithelial cells has continued to deepen, and in fact, no definite vascular and neurotrophic imbalance has been found in the private lesions. Therefore, in 1987, the International Society for the Study of Private Diseases (ISSVD) and the International Society of Gynecologic Pathologists (ISGYP) jointly discussed and formulated a new classification of private skin diseases.

Classification of vaginal milky white discoloration

1. According to the histological manifestations of chronic private malnutrition, it is divided into:

(1) Lichen sclerosus dystrophy;

(2) Proliferative malnutrition: no intestinal metaplasia in blood; intestinal metaplasia in blood;

(3) Mixed malnutrition: no intestinal metaplasia in blood pressure; intestinal metaplasia in blood.

2. Classification of private skin diseases (ISSVD, 1987):
