Can angiography unclog the fallopian tubes?

If fallopian tube blockage or water accumulation occurs, it must be treated immediately, otherwise ectopic pregnancy or other diseases may occur. Currently, there are many methods to treat bilateral fallopian tubes. The more common treatment method is pressure testing, but many people think that angiography can make both fallopian tubes unblocked. So, can angiography unclog the fallopian tubes? Let’s take a look below.

Can angiography unblock the fallopian tubes?

Contrast imaging cannot unclog the fallopian tubes. It is only a method of examination, but it can achieve the purpose of unblocking mild adhesions. In fact, although this examination has a certain unblocking effect, the actual effect is not very obvious. It mainly examines both sides of the fallopian tubes.

What are the symptoms of fallopian tube obstruction?

1. Generally speaking, when women have fallopian tube blockage, the body does not have obvious symptoms. The most common manifestation is infertility. Because the fallopian tubes on both sides have the function of transporting sperm and eggs, and combining and sending sperm and eggs to the uterus, when the fallopian tubes on both sides are blocked, it will prevent the sperm and sperm from combining and traveling, causing infertility or ectopic pregnancy in women.

2. If it is due to pelvic inflammatory disease, the inflammation causes bilateral fallopian tubes to be blocked, and the body will have symptoms such as lower abdominal distension and pain, back pain, and excessive secretions. Therefore, once women find abnormal symptoms in their bodies, they must pay great attention to them and not ignore them for a long time, in case some diseases are not treated in time and affect other reproductive organs.

Angiography can perform accurate contrast tests on the causes of fallopian tube blockage, obstruction, uterine adhesions, etc. Its purpose is to help women unclog their fallopian tubes.

Contrast imaging was first used in the 1920s. It introduces a high-proportion iodine agent composed of a high atomic number into the uterus through the cervical canal. Under X-rays, it produces a significant artificial contrast with the surrounding tissues, making the tubal cavity develop, and then the conditions of the uterus and bilateral fallopian tubes are understood. Contrast examination can not only tell whether the fallopian tubes on both sides are smooth and the location of the blockage, but also observe the shape of the uterus. This type of examination is relatively safe, does not require anesthesia, does not cause significant pain, and can be accepted by patients.

The test is less harmful and, under the operation of an experienced medical practitioner and with the use of a digital X-ray machine, can make an accurate diagnosis of fallopian tube obstruction with an accuracy of 98%. It also has certain therapeutic effects and is the most common test method used to determine whether both fallopian tubes are unobstructed, the degree of obstruction, and the actual location of the blockage. In many aspects, it is irreplaceable by ultrasound, CT, MRI, hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, bilateral fallopian tube endoscopy, etc.
