Endometrium 14mm but no period

Endometrium 14mm but no period

The uterine wall changes, becoming thicker or thinner at different stages of the menstrual cycle. If the uterine wall is too thick, some women with an endometrium of 14mm will not have menstruation, which will affect pregnancy. Is endometrial thickness of 14mm serious?

1. Is endometrial thickness of 14mm serious?

The normal range is 0.2-1.0 cm. The thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual cycle: 1. Menstrual period: the functional layer of the uterine wall falls off and the dermis is preserved. 2. Proliferative period: the endometrium thickness reaches 1-3mm during the 6th-14th day of the menstrual period. 3. Metabolic period: during the 15th-28th day of the menstrual period, the endometrium thickness reaches 5-7mm.

The normal thickness of the uterine wall can reach 8-1b250mm when menstruation comes. At this time, the level of estrogen and estrogen decreases, which activates the production of prostaglandins in the endometrium. Prostaglandins can stimulate the contraction of the uterine muscle layer, causing the spiral arteries in the functional layer of the endometrium to continue to contract and reduce endometrial blood flow. The total area of ischemic necrotic tissue gradually expands. Tissue degeneration and necrosis, increased permeability of blood vessel walls, rupture of blood vessels, resulting in the formation of abscesses at the bottom of the endometrium, and promoting tissue necrosis and exfoliation. The degenerated and necrotic endometrium mixes with the blood and is discharged to produce menstrual blood.

If the uterine wall reaches 14mm, it is relatively thick and this situation will affect the menstrual period. Menstrual pain is very common during menstruation, and it is not easy for the sperm and egg to combine and the embryo to implant. Its thickness changes according to the regular metabolic changes of ovarian hormones in the uterus and ovaries throughout the menstrual cycle.

2. The thickness of the uterine wall is normal

The normal thickness of women's endometrium is generally 2-10mm, but there will be different changes in different stages. If female friends find that there is abnormality in the thickness of the endometrium after the pre-pregnancy physical examination, they need to carry out corresponding treatment in time, otherwise it will affect future fertility.

Thin endometrium means that under the effect of certain estrogen, the endometrium cannot reach 8mm during ultrasound. These factors can cause the egg cell to not implant properly, and thus fail to achieve a complete pregnancy as planned.

Generally, the thickness of normal endometrium varies from 5-1b250μm. The thickness of uterine wall is also different at different stages:

1. Proliferative stage

In the early stage of hyperplasia, the endometrium appears as a thin echo line, about 4-6mm thick. In the late stage of hyperplasia, the uterine wall gradually shows three strong echo lines, and the intermediate low echo area is a double-layer functional endometrium with a thickness of about 8-1b250m. At the end of hyperplasia, the three lines and two zones are more clearly visible, and the thickness of the intima is widened, about 9-1b250m.

2. Metabolic stage

Early metabolic period: Day 15-19 of the menstrual cycle. During this stage, the endometrial ducts are longer and more tortuous. Hot bubbles containing glycogen begin to appear under the nuclei of glandular epithelial cells, which is called subnuclear vacuolation and is a histological feature of the early stage of metabolism.
