Pre-pregnancy preparation for second child for older women

Pre-pregnancy preparation for second child for older women

Modern people live at a fast pace and have great work pressure. Many people marry and have children late. Then the time to conceive is also delayed a lot. Just after giving birth. When wanting to have a second child, many people become older mothers. So what preparations should older women make before having a second child? What needs to be done? Let’s learn together with the editor below.

How to prepare for pregnancy for older women

1. Reduce the physiological disadvantages of aging

Because aging can lead to oocyte aging, sex chromosome distortion, sex chromosome non-disjunction, oocyte dysgenesis, and genetic mutations, these are all issues that need to be addressed and prevented. At this time, older women should first solve the disadvantages of age on fertility, and what they usually need to do is to regulate their menstrual cycle, increase the frequency of sexual life, and shorten the long menstrual cycle to about 28 days. This can increase the specificity and metabolic capacity of the uterus and ovaries, and can produce growth hormones and monitor follicles through physiology, and make comprehensive adjustments to underdeveloped eggs.

2. More detailed pre-pregnancy physical examination

The pre-pregnancy physical examination for older women requires many more items than that for normal women, such as Papanicolaou acid-fast staining, reproductive endocrine examination, progesterone level test after ovulation, uterine and ovarian reserve function, angiography, breast scanning or electrocardiogram, antisperm antibodies, fluid perfusion, antiphospholipid antibodies, and anti-uterine wall antigens. All of the above are routine mandatory examination items.

Moreover, female gynecological diseases such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, premature ovarian failure, cervical erosion, breast tumors, etc. are very common and common under the age of 35. Therefore, these diseases need to be excluded, and if they exist, they must be treated as soon as possible.

3. Actively prevent indications for cesarean section

Because older pregnant women are particularly prone to cesarean section indications, they must control their salt, sugar and fat intake in moderation, distribute their diet properly, and try to keep the baby's weight within the range of 6 to 7 pounds. Moreover, during pregnancy, more meticulous health care is required to actively avoid the occurrence of cesarean section indications. It is recommended to do some moderate exercise before pregnancy and before delivery, effectively absorb nutrition, control weight, be sure to carry out prenatal examinations, and strive for natural delivery as much as possible.

In addition, older mothers must undergo prenatal examinations and B-ultrasound to screen for abnormalities. If they are going to have a test tube, they need to undergo a pre-implantation cytological diagnosis before intrauterine implantation. After a successful normal pregnancy, they can take a villus sample for examination at 7-9 weeks of pregnancy, or do an amniocentesis at 15-18 weeks of pregnancy, or do a fetal cordocentesis at 24-28 weeks of pregnancy.

4. Do not blindly follow the trend of preserving the fetus during miscarriage

For older mothers, if miscarriage occurs during early pregnancy, it is recommended not to take measures to preserve the fetus, otherwise it is easy to preserve the test tube embryo that should have been replaced. If the fetus is just a little stupid or not very healthy, it is okay. What is worrying is those fetuses with defects such as mental retardation, congenital blindness, and deafness that cannot be diagnosed before delivery.
