How long does it take for menstruation to come after weaning the second child

Menstrual period is an important indicator to judge whether a woman's body is healthy. If it is delayed for too long or too early, it is a manifestation of irregular menstruation and needs to be properly treated. For new mothers, whether the menstrual period is normal is also an important factor in whether the body is healthy. So for mothers of two children, how long after the second child is it normal for the menstrual period to come? Generally there is no exact time, it depends on one's physical condition. Some women recover earlier, some later.

How long does it take for the second child to have his period after weaning?

The time of repair may be early or late. The early one may be when the baby’s period comes after one month, while the late one may have to wait until the baby is one year old to repair. From a medical point of view, based on the tissue shape of the uterine wall, the uterus and ovaries can ovulate as early as 33-42 days after giving birth. In addition, the presence of progesterone after ovulation can also be observed 6 weeks after giving birth.

Scientific research data show that 40% of pregnant women who do not breastfeed resume ovulation 6 weeks after giving birth. Only about 35% of pregnant women have not resumed ovulation and menstruation 8-12 weeks after giving birth. For breastfeeding pregnant women, about 25% will resume ovulation and menstruation 12 weeks after giving birth, and most breastfeeding pregnant women generally take until 18 weeks to resume ovulation function. However, it is sometimes impossible to clinically determine the exact time of the first menstrual period after childbirth, and a very small number of pregnant women will begin to have light to moderate intermittent bleeding immediately after delivery.

This shows that the restoration of postpartum menstruation is related to breastfeeding. Generally speaking, if you don't breastfeed after giving birth, your menarche will resume in 1-2 months. If it's too late, your menstrual period will resume in 3 months after giving birth. The menarche of breastfeeding women is generally delayed, and they may not have their menarche during the entire breastfeeding period. However, menarche can usually be restored within three months after weaning. Those who have not had menarche after this period need to go to the hospital to find out the reason.

What to do if you don't have your period after weaning

The timing of postpartum menstruation varies from person to person, depending on whether the mother breastfeeds after giving birth and the physical fitness of the mother herself. Generally, menstruation can be basically restored within 3 months after giving birth. Some mothers have not had their menstruation after weaning. Why not observe for a few days? It is also normal for the first menstruation to occur three months after weaning. However, if menstruation does not come after weaning, it may be due to long-term amenorrhea, which causes the uterus to shrink, or the breastfeeding period is too long, which makes the shrunken uterus unable to recover quickly. If there is no menstruation or menstrual disorders after weaning, you can use Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine for treatment:

1. Western medicine treatment: Most drugs use estrogen and estrogen sequential treatment (also called artificial cycle). Most people can resume menstruation after 1-2 cycles of treatment. However, this method must be used after weaning.

2. Treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine: Traditional Chinese medicine is mostly used to treat with drugs that nourish yin, qi and blood or replenish qi and promote blood circulation. The time required for recuperation may be longer, but the side effects are relatively small.
