Can I eat pepper when I'm pregnant?

When a woman is pregnant, she must be careful about her diet. There are many foods that are usually good for the human body but are not suitable for pregnant women. Many people like to add white pepper when making soup. It can strengthen the spleen, stimulate appetite, remove fishy smell and promote digestion. So, can I eat white pepper when I am pregnant?

White pepper should not be consumed in the early stages of pregnancy because it is a stimulating and hot food. It is not bad for ordinary people to eat it, but if pregnant women consume too much, it will immediately cause too little amniotic fluid, aggravated internal heat, and even the risk of miscarriage. Therefore, pregnant women should not eat white pepper.

Pregnant women eating white pepper can easily cause gastrointestinal discomfort. In the early stages of pregnancy, women will immediately experience loss of appetite due to pregnancy reactions. If they eat the strongly irritating white pepper, they may suffer from vomiting and diarrhea. If a pregnant woman suffers from constipation, eating white pepper can easily aggravate the constipation.

You can eat a small amount of white pepper in the early stages of pregnancy, but you should try to reduce it as much as possible. Taking white pepper is not good for the health of pregnant women, nor for the development of the baby.

1. For pregnant women, the diet should be light. White pepper is pungent and belongs to spicy food. It consumes water and makes pregnant women prone to getting angry, causing dry stomach, constipation, dry mouth, and is not conducive to digestive function. In severe cases, malnutrition symptoms may occur.

2. For the fetus, white pepper causes discomfort and malnutrition in pregnant women, which of course affects the development of the baby. Constipated pregnant women will increase abdominal pressure, which can easily lead to symptoms such as fetal movement disorder and miscarriage. During the production process of white pepper, chemical compounds may be added. This substance can invade the fetus through the embryo and affect the fetus's development, especially in the early stages of pregnancy when the fetus is most unstable, and the above risks will be further aggravated.

After a woman becomes pregnant, the body will immediately be in a state of high pressure, and taking white pepper will affect kidney health and easily cause blood pressure instability. If pregnant women have poor kidney function, or suffer from gestational hypertension or diabetes, they should avoid eating white pepper. In addition to white pepper, spicy foods such as chili powder, cumin powder and mustard are not suitable for pregnant women.
