Is it normal to have frequent fetal movements at 31 weeks of pregnancy?

During pregnancy, expectant mothers are worried about various problems in their bodies. At 31 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus will go through a growth spurt, at which time the fetus's lungs and digestive tract are basically complete. Many mothers will feel frequent fetal movements at this time. So, is it normal to have frequent fetal movements during the 31st week of pregnancy?

It is generally not normal for women to experience frequent fetal movements during the 31st week of pregnancy. Frequent fetal movements are mostly considered to be due to abnormal reflex activity after fetal hypoxia. If the baby's fetal movement usually lasts for more than two hours, the probability of fetal hypoxia is very high, and it may also be caused by fetal umbilical cord factors, such as the umbilical cord around the neck, or the fetal umbilical cord is under pressure. However, if frequent fetal movements occur only occasionally, but they subside naturally within thirty minutes, then this is a normal phenomenon, especially if the pregnant woman has just eaten.

At 31 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus' body and limbs continue to grow until they are in the same proportion as the head. The fetus now weighs about 2000 grams. The baby's body fat is more abundant, the wrinkles are reduced, and he looks more like a baby. At this time, all the organs of the baby's body continue to develop and mature, the lungs and intestines are almost complete, and they can breathe and secrete digestive enzymes. The amniotic fluid drunk by the fetus is metabolized in the amniotic fluid by the bladder, which is training for the defecation function after birth.

During the day, there are two peak periods of fetal movement, one is between 7 and 9 in the morning, and the other is at 11 pm and 1 am the next day. At other times, especially in the morning, the baby's fetal movements are relatively less. The approximate regularity is no less than 3 to 5 times per hour, and the baby's fetal movement is about 30 to 40 times every 12 hours. However, if the baby moves more than 10 times per hour, you need to consider frequent fetal movements and go to the hospital for medical treatment as soon as possible.
