Fetal hiccups indicate intrauterine conditions

When pregnant mothers are seven to eight months pregnant, they feel that the baby seems to be hiccuping all the time. Hiccups in adults are mainly caused by digesting and absorbing cold air or eating too fast, too full and not drinking water. So what is the reason for fetal hiccups? Does it mean that the intrauterine condition is not healthy? Let's follow the editor to understand the reasons for fetal hiccups.

The main reasons for fetal hiccups are:

1. The key to the hiccups in the fetus is the regular vibrations in the mother's belly, which occur every few seconds and sometimes last for two to five minutes, but sometimes they may last longer.

2. Fetal hiccups usually occur in the late stages of pregnancy. Just like adults eating, the fetus will continue to swallow amniotic fluid in the mother's body in order to breathe more strongly, which is manifested as hiccups in the fetus.

3. Fetal hiccups are a very normal phenomenon. This is the fetus's way of raising its lungs to inhale. Because the baby's lung function has not yet fully developed, it is necessary to continue to swallow the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman to exercise the lungs to breathe. And after birth, you can breathe. Fetal hiccups are not an abnormality, but a physiological phenomenon, and there is no need to cause anxiety. Fetal hiccups begin around 28 weeks of pregnancy. Fetal hiccups only occur when the baby is growing and developing well in the uterus. If there is insufficient oxygen, it will not hiccup. Therefore, fetal hiccups indicate that the body is still very healthy.

Fetal hiccups are not caused by indigestion due to eating too much, so pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much. This has nothing to do with the mother's usual habits. Hiccups are just a necessary process for a baby's growth. It exercises the lungs by swallowing the amniotic fluid so that the baby can breathe normally after birth.

It is recommended that pregnant mothers can monitor the changes in the fetal position by themselves according to the phenomenon of fetal hiccups. Pregnant mothers can lie in bed regularly to calculate the frequency of fetal movements. If the fetus continues to move for a long time, you need to be alert. The height and frequency of fetal movements vary greatly from person to person, and some may have more fetal movements. If the baby's fetal movement reaches more than 30 times within 12 hours, it means that the baby is developing well. If it is less than 20 times, it means that there is something wrong with the fetus. If the fetal movement is less than 10 times, it means that the baby is insufficient in oxygen and you need to see a doctor immediately.
