How many eggs should be retrieved for IVF?

More and more couples are unable to conceive through artificial insemination and have to choose in vitro fertilization. However, most of the women who have undergone in vitro fertilization are in great pain, bearing two layers of pain physically and mentally. Especially the egg retrieval process, which is really very painful. But why can some women retrieve dozens of eggs at a time, while others can only retrieve a few? So, how many eggs are best to retrieve for IVF?

Generally 8 to 12 pieces are enough. When doing test tube fertilization, you need to use ovulation injections in the early stage. About ten days after the ovulation injection, the eggs can be retrieved after they are perfect. When retrieving eggs for in vitro fertilization, generally 8 to 12 eggs are enough. In this way, test tube embryos can be cultivated. After successful cultivation, test tube embryo implantation is required. After 14 days, blood tests are done to test the test tube embryos. If the embryos have completely implanted, it can usually be confirmed that the pregnancy is successful.

However, you cannot do IVF whenever you want. It requires surgical indicators. Generally, it must be done for women who are unable to conceive normally, or for men with low sperm quality. Moreover, both husband and wife must be in good health to do IVF. In order to increase the success rate of the operation, it is best to go to a professional hospital. If conditions permit, you can go to big cities such as Shanghai and Beijing, where the success rate is higher.

Test tube standards

In vitro fertilization is an emerging pregnancy-promoting technology. This technology is not yet mature in China. Therefore, experts suggest that unless it is under extreme circumstances, couples who are still unable to conceive after scientific treatment can consider the last step: in vitro fertilization. So, what are the standards for test tube testing? Come and follow me and take a look.

1. Submit the marriage certificate, identity document, and confirmation of the planned parenting services;

2. Understand the woman’s medical history, surgical history, clinical examination and treatment history of infertility, and undergo a full physical examination and gynecological pelvic examination. In addition, those who are infertile due to bilateral fallopian tube factors must also submit fallopian tube examination records;

3. On the 2nd to 3rd day after the menstrual cycle, test the basic estrogen level of women, and conduct pelvic B-ultrasound examination and vaginal discharge examination;

4. If necessary, uterine wall puncture biopsy and cervical cytology examination should also be carried out.

5. Understand the man’s medical history and conduct routine physical examinations, including basic tests of semen.

6. The husband and wife shall conduct tests for hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C antibody, HIV antibody, syphilis serology, liver function test and blood test. Women also need to undergo tests such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate, routine blood test, routine urine test, coagulation test, electrocardiogram, and sex chromosome test.

Who is suitable for IVF?

1. Women should be under 30 years old (younger people are more likely to succeed).

2. Secondary infertility (with a history of pregnancy), especially ectopic pregnancy, indicates that test tube embryos have good survival rate.

3. The physical shape of test tube embryos is relatively ideal, and there are many high-quality test tube embryos available for transplantation.

4. The uterus is normal and the test tube transplantation is successful (it is very easy to insert the transplant tube into the uterine cavity).
