What causes frequent urination at night in women?

Frequent urination and urgency in layman's terms means that the interval between urination is very short and the frequency is very high, especially at night. Many people will encounter this problem, often unable to sleep and eat, resulting in groggy work the next day. In daily life, some women are often troubled by frequent urination at night, but urinating during the day is quite normal and there will be no abnormalities. So, what is going on?

1. Viral infection

The invasion of viral infection may also be due to Trichomonas infection, or it may be due to urethral infection. First, we must determine the cause of the disease and then treat it based on the cause. You can see a doctor and choose to conduct a routine urine test to make a definite diagnosis. If necessary, you can do a B-ultrasound examination. In normal circumstances, you need to pay attention to drinking more water to promote urine excretion.

2. Inflammation and irritation

Frequent urination in women may also be caused by inflammatory irritation, such as: acute cystitis, tuberculous cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, vulvitis, etc. Women may also experience symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, and painful urination under these inflammatory stimulations. These symptoms are also called urethral irritation.

3. Reduced bladder volume

Such as bladder space-occupying disease, compression of the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder muscle atrophy or large bladder stones.

4. Diabetes

Diabetes usually has no special symptoms. When "three more and one less" occurs, that is, more urine, more food, and more water drinking, but weight loss, it means that the blood sugar level is already very high, resulting in a "diuretic" effect. If you are a diabetic and suddenly have frequent urination at night, it is a warning sign that you have diabetes or it may be getting worse.

5. Mental Disorder

The patient has no organic disease that causes frequent urination at night. When he is highly anxious or nervous, his sleep quality is poor, and the slightest bladder blood flow will cause the urge to urinate. Some people have to wake up to urinate 1-2 times every night for fear of bedwetting, which becomes a habit over time. This type of frequent urination at night only means an increase in the frequency of urination, but sometimes the urination at night exceeds the urination during the day.
