What to do if you have severe toothache during pregnancy

During pregnancy, due to the decrease in body resistance, it is easy to induce dental problems, such as gingivitis, periodontitis, tooth atrophy, tooth pain, etc., but pregnant women often cannot take painkillers at this time. Sometimes, if the symptoms are severe, it will directly affect eating. If it affects eating, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. If it does not affect eating, you can use some folk remedies to relieve the pain.

Since it is caused by local inflammation of the dental pulp nerve due to heat, you can actively take oral vitamin C and amoxicillin under the face-to-face guidance of a doctor, which can quickly help relieve the pain symptoms. During this period, pay attention to drinking more water, eating more fresh vegetables and fruits, keeping bowel movements, avoiding spicy and irritating foods, and go to the hospital for treatment when necessary.

Toothache is not a disease, but it is really painful when it happens. This saying has been circulating among the people for a long time. In fact, toothache is the external reaction of your tooth disease. It could be cavities or an infection in your pulp or gums around your canines. Of course, a crack in your premolar can also cause toothache. Sometimes it's just food crumbs stuck between your teeth that cause discomfort. Additionally, toothache may also be caused by sinusitis. If you have a toothache, it is best to see a dentist to find out the real cause of your toothache. But before you see the dentist, you can use the following methods to relieve the pain.

Rinse your mouth with a mouthful of water (similar to body temperature) and rinse your mouth vigorously. If the toothache is caused by food scraps stuck between teeth, rinsing your mouth to remove the scraps can solve the toothache. If rinsing your mouth doesn't work, you can use dental floss. But be careful not to injure your gums.

Anesthetic pain relief: Taking a sip of slightly strong alcohol can numb the teeth and gums and achieve the effect of pain relief.

Cut a small piece of aloe vera, peel off the skin, and hold the pulp containing sticky liquid in the painful area. It will relieve itself in 2-4 hours. Gargle with salt water: After each meal and before going to bed, add 1 teaspoon of salt to about 230ml of warm water (close to body temperature) and gargle with this solution. Do not swallow.

Massaging your hands can relieve 50% of the pain. Rub an ice cube into the V-shaped area between the thumb and index finger bones. Gently apply ice to the area for 5 to 7 minutes.

A Canadian researcher found that 60-90% of people who used this method found relief from toothache. His research showed that this friction method can interfere with the transmission of toothache nerve impulses.

Apply ice to the cheek closest to the toothache just as you would a bruise to relieve the pain. Apply for 15 minutes each time, at least 3-4 times a day.
