Miscarriage test paper still has two lines

Miscarriage test paper still has two lines

Can two lines be detected during miscarriage? There are two types of test results for early pregnancy test paper: put urine into the test hole on the pregnancy test paper. When a line appears in the contrast area of the pregnancy test paper (some pregnancy test papers are bright red, and some are dark blue), it means no pregnancy. On the contrary, when a clear line appears in the test area, it means positive, indicating pregnancy. This type of test has the advantages of being rapid, convenient, flexible, and highly specific, and can avoid cross-reactions with other glycoprotein hormones that have a similar structure to HCG. However, early pregnancy test strips are only used as a preliminary screening test.

After an abortion, because the body's recovery of estrogen requires a process, the early pregnancy test may be positive, which is normal and usually recovers in about 3 weeks. If the early pregnancy test is still positive after 3 weeks of miscarriage, it may be intrauterine residual. If you have sex during this period without taking any contraceptive measures, you may still be pregnant. You need to go to a regular hospital's gynecology department for relevant examinations, confirm the diagnosis, and use medication for treatment.

If the pregnancy test paper you purchased is stored for too long (more than 1 year), or if it is damp and not stored at normal room temperature (not refrigerated), it may become invalid and result in a false negative test result.

If pregnancy has just begun, or there is a possibility of ectopic pregnancy (ectopic pregnancy), the body's HCG level is generally slightly low. The test sample needs to be left alone for more than 3 minutes (usually only 1 minute), and careful analysis must be made to see if there is a weak positive - the test area cartridge is only faintly visible.

In extreme cases, such as hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma, the HCG level in the body will be too high and the urine test may not show a positive result.

After 3 months of pregnancy, HCG levels decrease and urine tests may sometimes be negative or weakly positive.

A positive result does not mean 100% pregnancy. Some tumor cells, such as hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma, bronchitis carcinoma and renal cancer, can also metabolize HCG. We have also encountered patients with endometrial hyperplasia who tested positive for HCG.

Therefore, for the question of whether you can still detect two lines during miscarriage, you don’t have to rely solely on one early pregnancy test to determine whether you are pregnant. For safety reasons, you can test again after 3 days. Of course, the most reliable way is to go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination in time, especially for those who are weakly positive, so as to take effective measures.
