Pregnant women's nipples cracked

During pregnancy, pregnant women will experience some physical changes. Don't be anxious or worried. Many conditions are normal during pregnancy and are preparations for future childbirth or breastfeeding. The changes in nipples during pregnancy are more prominent. Many pregnant women will experience cracked nipples. So do you know what causes cracked nipples during pregnancy?

What causes nipple cracking during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, the nipples of the breasts begin to grow and develop, which is related to the changes in hormones in the body during pregnancy. It is recommended to pay attention to the daily cleaning of the breasts and nipples, starting from the 5th to 6th month of pregnancy, and do breast care once a day. When taking a shower every day, use a cotton towel dipped in warm water to gently clean the nipples. Wash evenly and gently without hurting the skin.

Frequent cleaning can make the nipple skin strong, withstand the baby's sucking, and prevent it from cracking during breastfeeding. After cleaning, you can apply some lotion to massage your chest, which can improve local blood circulation and promote breast development. Gently massage your breasts in a circular motion from the outside toward the nipple, about 10 times on each side. Then use your thumb and ring finger to pinch and massage the nipples for about 1 to 2 minutes.

How to take care of your breasts

During the entire pregnancy and breastfeeding period, the size and cup shape of the bra should be changed according to the size of the breasts, and the camisole should be maintained with a certain tensile strength to support the breasts upwards to ensure smooth blood circulation and prevent milk retention and stagnation, thereby preventing future breast sagging.

It is best to use a pure cotton bra. It is more convenient to wear a breastfeeding shirt with an opening on the chest. After giving birth, you should pay attention to the health care of your breasts to avoid the occurrence of acute mastitis. If you experience lumps or local swelling on your breasts, or even fever, you may have subacute mastitis and should see a doctor immediately.

Changes in the breasts are a preparation for the convenience of breastfeeding in the future, so you can rest assured. If you are still worried about the cracking of nipple granules during pregnancy, you can see a doctor and ask for the doctor's advice, and take medication according to the doctor's instructions to alleviate the symptoms. Pregnant women need to pay attention to maintaining hygiene and it is best not to use medicines. If you must use medicine, you should also take medicine that can be taken by pregnant women.
