We all sweat when the weather is hot or when we are exercising. Sweat is actually the "air conditioner" of our body and also a way of detoxification. But sometimes, sweating is also a sign of illness in the body. For example, sweating. If women usually sweat profusely, it may be due to qi deficiency, yang deficiency and other reasons. It is best to go to a Chinese medicine hospital for diagnosis and use Chinese medicine for conditioning. Sweating, called spontaneous sweating and night sweats in traditional Chinese medicine, is a symptom caused by imbalance of yin and yang and loose pores, which leads to the leakage of sweat. Sweating during the day without being affected by the external environment and getting worse with activity is called spontaneous sweating. Sweating during sleep and stopping after waking up is called night sweats, also known as sleep sweats. Deficiency syndrome should be treated by invigorating Qi and strengthening the exterior, replenishing blood and nourishing Yin, and harmonizing the Ying and Wei systems; excess syndrome should be treated by clearing the liver, relieving depression, transforming dampness and clearing heat. For those with a mixture of deficiency and excess, appropriate consideration should be given to both depending on the priority of the symptoms. Since spontaneous sweating and night sweats are both caused by loose pores and leakage of body fluids as the basic pathological changes, astringent products such as ephedra root, floating wheat, glutinous rice root, schisandra chinensis, dragon bone, and oyster should be selected as appropriate to enhance the antiperspirant effect. Among sweating syndromes, there are spontaneous sweating, night sweats, excessive sweating, sweating during sleep, and yellow sweats. The clinical manifestations of each syndrome have their own characteristics and should be differentiated. (1) Spontaneous sweating: Sweating occurs at all times, regardless of day or night, and worsens with movement, often accompanied by symptoms of Qi deficiency. (ii) Night sweats: Sweating during sleep that stops upon waking up, often accompanied by symptoms of yin deficiency and internal heat, which can be treated with Gan (same pronunciation as above) Yuan Tang. (3) Sweating: Profuse sweating, like oil, is a sign of a serious illness. It is often accompanied by low voice and weak breathing, cold limbs, mental fatigue, and even unclear consciousness, and a weak or scattered pulse. (iv) Sweating: This mainly occurs during acute fever, with sudden chills and shivers, and sweating all over the body, which is a sign of the struggle between good and evil. It is often accompanied by fever, thirst, and irritability. If after sweating, the fever subsides, the pulse becomes calm, and the breathing becomes regular, the condition tends to improve. (5) Yellow sweat: The sweat is yellow in color and stains clothes. It is more common in patients with jaundice. Generally speaking, spontaneous sweating is caused by weak Qi, which can be attributed to deficiency of the Lung and Spleen Qi or disharmony between the Ying and Wei systems. Night sweats are caused by failure to store heart fluid, which can be attributed to deficiency of Yin and fire or deficiency of both the Heart and Spleen. If the evil heat pursues the patient and the body fluids are leaked out, it is a positive syndrome. However, for patients with a long course of illness or severe conditions, the symptoms may turn from real to virtual or become a mixture of virtual and real. |
