What are the effects of HPV infection on women?

HPV infection mainly refers to human papillomavirus infection, which is a relatively highly infectious virus. However, the types are quite diverse, so after being infected with the HPV virus, the symptoms and types of diseases that occur will also be different. Moreover, for women with low immunity, the probability of HPV infection is relatively higher. So what impact will HPV infection have on women?

The harm of HPV infection to women mainly comes from two issues. Because HPV infection is divided into high-risk HPV infection and low-risk HPV infection. For women, low-risk HPV infection usually only causes genital warts. For high-risk HPV infection, in addition to genital warts, women may also develop cervical lesions or even cancer.

For low-risk HPV infection, genital warts, a traditional sexually transmitted disease, can bring tremendous psychological pressure. As a disease, genital warts can be completely cured and do not need to cause too much stress.

Regarding high-risk HPV infection, we would like to remind everyone that for female friends, genital warts caused by high-risk infection can be solved, but if you have recovered from genital warts outside and you do not check for cervical HPV infection, you may be hiding a bomb. Because for women, when high-risk HPV infection forms a persistent infection on the cervix, it is a necessary condition for causing cervical cancer. From the perspective of preventing cervical cancer, high-risk HPV infection is relatively harmful to women.

The third point is that for women it also involves the issue of marriage and childbirth, so both high-risk and low-risk infections will have a certain impact. If a low-risk infection occurs during pregnancy, it can cause genital warts. If the child has to pass through the birth canal, it may indeed affect the child and cause infection. Even severe individual cases may cause children to suffer from respiratory papillomavirus, which has a huge impact on newborns. Another important impact of high-risk infection on women is that this high-risk HPV infection causes certain lesions in the cervix. If they happen to be pregnant, the low immunity of pregnancy and the lesions caused by high-risk HPV infection of the cervix can easily lead to higher-level lesions in women, and even cause cervical cancer during pregnancy. When pregnancy and cervical cancer are put together, the life issues of both children and adults become a dilemma. Therefore, the harmful effects on women are relatively large, and everyone should pay attention to this issue. Regular screening can detect this problem, and currently the treatment is not that difficult, so there is no need to worry too much.
