Will a breast lump go away on its own?

Will a breast lump go away on its own?

Breast lumps will not disappear automatically. In this case, women need to undergo X-ray examination and then undergo treatment. Generally, breast lumps are benign tumors and can be treated by massaging the breasts and wearing appropriate underwear. Breast lumps may also be caused by malignant diseases. Malignant diseases require patients to undergo timely surgical removal. Therefore, patients with breast lumps can learn about the treatment methods introduced below.

Clinically, breast lumps do not disappear on their own. Therefore, once a patient develops a breast lump, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital for treatment and then undergo breast color ultrasound or breast mammography X-ray to clarify the nature of the breast lump. If the patient's breast lump is considered to be a benign lump, surgical treatment is temporarily not required, but regular observation is required; if the patient's breast lump is suspected to be a malignant tumor, it should be removed in time and then a pathological examination should be performed. If the pathological examination confirms that it is a malignant breast tumor, then at this time, a modified radical mastectomy should be performed, and chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other treatments should be given after the operation.

There is a lump in the breast, it may be this disease

What is a fibroadenoma

Fibroadenoma is a benign tumor composed of a mixture of glandular epithelium and fibrous tissue, which can occur in women of any age. It is generally more common in women aged 15-35, with the peak being around 25 years old.

Its main symptom is breast lumps, which are round or oval in size and often occur in one breast. They feel hard to the touch, have a smooth surface and clear boundaries. Unlike breast hyperplasia and breast cancer, fibroids are painless and are often discovered accidentally when taking a bath or changing clothes.

Causes of fibroids

The growth mechanism of fibroadenomas is still unclear. The most widely accepted view is that estrogen is a stimulating factor for breast fibroadenomas. As the target organ of estrogen, the breast is distributed with a large number of estrogen receptors. Estrogen receptors are also distributed on the fibrous tissue and glandular epithelium within the mammary lobules.

In some women, there are more estrogen receptors distributed in the local breast glands, or the sensitivity of the local estrogen receptors is significantly increased, which leads to obvious proliferation of local fibrous tissue and glandular epithelium, and thus the appearance of fibroadenomas. Some women experience the growth and recurrence of breast fibroadenomas due to the above reasons.

Generally speaking, factors such as diet and environment do not affect the growth of fibroadenoma.

Can fibroids become cancerous?

Let me tell you the conclusion first: the chance of breast fibroids turning into cancer is extremely low. Breast fibroids can generally be classified according to size:

Generally large:

This type is usually called common fibroma, which is also the most common type. It is not large, about 3 cm, grows slowly, and is relatively isolated.

Larger:

This is the type that grows faster, such as adolescent fibroids, which usually occur shortly after a woman's menstruation begins, and grow relatively fast, some of which can grow to more than ten centimeters.

Extra large:

The basic diameter is more than ten centimeters, and there is a possibility of malignant transformation.

Therefore, if you find nodules or tumors in your breasts, you should see a doctor as soon as possible!

How to treat

Generally speaking, drugs are of no use for fibroadenoma, including Chinese or Western medicine. Don't believe the advertisements you see on the streets or on TV that claim they can eliminate lumps or tumors.

Surgery is the only effective treatment, but not all fibroadenomas require surgery! Whether surgery is needed depends on the doctor's decision.
