How long can I have sex with an IUD?

Many women use various methods to prevent pregnancy. In addition to taking birth control pills, if you want to achieve long-term contraception, you can also consider using an IUD. Using an IUD is relatively more convenient. It should be noted that women cannot have sex immediately after wearing an IUD. It takes some time to recover. So how long can a woman wait before having sex after wearing an IUD?

1. Female friends are not allowed to have sex within two weeks after wearing the contraceptive ring, otherwise it will cause gynecological diseases such as uterine infection or pelvic inflammatory disease. If you have sex too early, it is easy for the intrauterine contraceptive ring to be dislocated, so you must pay special attention to this issue. Also, if the bleeding time after the contraceptive ring is relatively long, more than seven days, then the time of sexual intercourse should be delayed, and a gynecological B-ultrasound examination should be performed after the menstruation is over every month to see whether the position of the contraceptive ring is normal. Generally, after three months of examination, there is no need to check every month, just once every six months or a year.

2. Although the IUD is a relatively effective contraceptive method, its harm is also relatively large. Bleeding will occur. Bleeding usually occurs three to four days after the IUD is inserted. Most women will have a small amount of bleeding. This is because the IUD stimulates the contraction of the uterus, causing the friction between the IUD and the endometrium, causing bleeding. For women with small amounts of bleeding, no treatment is required, and it will generally heal on its own in a week.

3. In the early stage of using the contraceptive ring, especially in the first three months, some women will have an increase in menstrual volume to varying degrees, or a prolonged menstrual period, and some will have irregular spotting. This is mainly because when the endometrium is shed, the friction between the contraceptive ring and the endometrium causes damage to the endometrium. Generally, it will naturally ease after three months. Female friends must pay great attention to contraceptive rings, because not all female friends are suitable for contraceptive rings. Some female friends will experience infections and gynecological diseases after using contraceptive rings. Therefore, female friends must be cautious when choosing to use contraceptive rings, pay attention to personal hygiene, and prevent infections.
