How much weight gain is normal during the fourth month of pregnancy?

How much weight gain is normal during the fourth month of pregnancy?

Generally, the weight can increase to about 10 kilograms in four months of pregnancy. In addition, women who were thin before pregnancy will gain more weight. Women need to pay attention to balanced nutrition during pregnancy so that the fetus can grow healthily in the womb. Pregnant women whose weight does not reach the normal standard in four months of pregnancy should be examined by B-ultrasound. Too much weight gain may cause dystocia.

1. During the 4th month of pregnancy, the average weight gain is about 4 kilograms.

Of course, some expectant mothers will gain weight, but some expectant mothers with strong early pregnancy reactions may not gain weight in the fourth month of pregnancy, and some may even lose weight. This is because the first three months are the period when the pregnancy reaction is the strongest. Some expectant mothers vomit everything they eat and cannot eat much, so their weight decreases instead of increases. But there is no need to worry.

In the early stages of pregnancy, the mother's weight hardly increases, because the early stages are mainly focused on the development of the embryo, and the fetus itself is very small. By the fourth month of pregnancy, the weight of the fetus is only about 150 grams. It has almost no effect on the weight of the expectant mother.

2. The fetus enters a period of rapid development during the second trimester.

The mother enters the second trimester at 4 months of pregnancy. At this time, most of the early pregnancy reactions disappear, the appetite increases, and the fetus begins to develop rapidly from the second trimester. Before the 13th week of pregnancy, the mother's weight does not increase, and then increases by about 1 kilogram per week. Of course, the physical condition of each expectant mother is different, and there are great individual differences. Some grow fast, some slow, some increase more, and some less.

3. Diet for pregnant mothers in 4 months.

The "Balanced Diet Pyramid for Chinese Pregnant Women" released by the Maternal and Child Health Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society recommends that the diet of pregnant women in the second trimester (4th to 7th month of pregnancy) should ensure 300-500 grams of milk, 150-200 grams of fish, poultry, meat and eggs, 300-500 grams of vegetables, 200-400 grams of fruit, 275-325 grams of cereals and potatoes, and 1700-1900 milliliters of water per day.

Expectant mothers should not be afraid of gaining weight and limit their fat intake. Starting from the second trimester, they must ensure fat intake, about 60 grams per day. During pregnancy, mothers must reserve enough fat for the baby's development. If there is a lack of fat, expectant mothers may suffer from fat-soluble vitamin deficiency, causing a variety of diseases such as the liver, kidney, vision and nerves. It may also affect the development and maturation of the fetus's cardiovascular and nervous systems.

There is no need to deliberately increase the intake, just eat normally as usual. Remember not to consume too much fat. At the same time, when eating high-fat foods, it is best to pair them with greens to keep the nutrition balanced.

4. Exercise properly to control rapid weight gain.

From the second trimester of pregnancy, the expectant mother begins to gain weight, but care must be taken to control the weight, as excessive weight gain will increase the risks to both the expectant mother and the fetus.

In addition to a balanced diet, you should also pay attention to proper exercise during pregnancy, and maintain about half an hour of exercise every day.

5. Recommend several recipes for 4 months of pregnancy.

Stir-fried diced meat with celery can replenish blood and qi, and strengthen tendons and bones.

Dry-fried yellow croaker promotes the brain development of the fetus.

Beef and carrot soup. Enhance the body's immunity.

Shrimp and seaweed soup. It can supplement calcium.

Kiwi yogurt, supplemented with vitamin E can prevent the fetus from suffering from hemolytic anemia after birth.

Kelp rice can supplement iodine for the fetus. Promote the growth and development of the fetus.
