Can breast hyperplasia nodules become cancerous?

Can breast hyperplasia nodules become cancerous?

Breast hyperplasia nodules can become cancerous, and it takes a process for them to become cancerous. Generally, breast cancer can only be formed after atypical hyperplasia. Breast cancer will affect the patient's life span, and it is also a cancer with a relatively high incidence rate. Women need to clear their main breast nodules, and when breast hyperplasia nodules appear, it is best to use surgery to remove them, and massage the breasts to clear them.

In fact, breast nodules are just a phenomenon, not the disease itself. In the process of development and transformation of breast disease, the development line is "breast hyperplasia - cystic hyperplasia - atypical hyperplasia (precancerous lesions) - breast cancer".

"Breast nodules" is a broad concept, like a basket, which can hold many breast diseases, such as: breast hyperplasia, breast cysts, etc.; or benign tumors, such as breast fibroadenoma, lipoma; and the most frightening malignant tumors, such as breast cancer, breast lymphoma, etc.

In this way, you can clearly understand whether breast hyperplasia and breast nodules may become cancerous. Obviously, this is a positive answer. The development of a serious disease is initially caused by the evolution and aggravation of mild symptoms.

Therefore, when breast nodules are detected during examination, it is more important to further confirm which type of breast disease it is. If you ask your doctor to clearly distinguish which of the three types of breast nodules you have based solely on your symptoms, that is not a reliable approach. To diagnose breast diseases, imaging examinations are still necessary.

What tests can confirm the diagnosis?

1. Breast B-ultrasound

Advantages: economical, non-invasive, the first choice for most people, especially for adolescent women and pregnant women;

It can clearly distinguish tissue layers, detect breast lumps, and preliminarily determine the nature of the lumps based on their size, shape, blood flow, etc.

shortcoming:

Color Doppler ultrasound is not accurate enough in identifying tiny calcification foci, but whether breast tissue is calcified and the morphology of calcification are one of the sensitive indicators for determining whether the nodules are benign or malignant.

2. Molybdenum target examination

Advantages: Molybdenum target can make up for the above-mentioned shortcomings of B-ultrasound. It can accurately detect and describe calcification in detail, and can diagnose asymptomatic or intangible breast cancer. It is especially suitable for people with atrophic breasts, fewer glands or fatty breasts.

shortcoming:

Has a certain degree of radioactivity;

The resolution of tumors is not as good as color Doppler ultrasound;

In denser breasts, it is sometimes difficult to discern the nature of the lesion;

During the examination, the entire breast needs to be flattened for X-ray, which may be a bit painful, so it is not suitable for women who are menstruating or breastfeeding.

3. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Advantages: Magnetic resonance imaging can clearly observe lesions and has a higher accuracy rate. For some occult lesions, the nature of which cannot be determined after color Doppler ultrasound and mammography examinations, MRI examination can be further selected.

shortcoming:

The cost is slightly expensive, the operation is complicated, and it is not convenient enough;

The false positive rate is high, and it is especially not suitable for people who have ferromagnetic materials such as pacemakers installed in their bodies;

People who suffer from claustrophobia, are allergic to contrast agents, or cannot lie prone for examination are not suitable for this procedure.

If you still don’t care because of time, your own lack of attention, or the “suggestions” of relatives and friends around you, then I have to say that you are putting yourself in danger!
