Which type of abortion causes less damage and faster recovery?

As parents, we all hope to have a healthy baby. However, due to fetal development problems, we may lose the child and have to have an abortion. So, which type of abortion causes less harm and recovers faster? Currently, the methods of abortion include medical abortion, painless abortion, induced labor, etc. The method of abortion depends on the duration of pregnancy. You should pay attention to nursing care after miscarriage to avoid any physical problems caused by miscarriage.

1. Medical abortion

Medical abortion is suitable for pregnancies within 4 weeks. The pregnancy can be terminated by taking anti-pregnancy drugs without the need to use mechanical instruments to enter the uterine cavity. The method is simple, safe and effective, the patient suffers less pain and recovers strength quickly. However, the vaginal bleeding caused by medical abortion is heavier than normal menstrual flow, and sometimes incomplete abortion may occur, and even lead to hemorrhagic anemia, reproductive tract infection, etc.

2. Uterine aspiration

Vacuum aspiration abortion is also known as suction uterine surgery. A surgical procedure in which the embryonic tissue in the uterus is sucked out using a device that applies 400 to 500 mmHg of negative pressure within 10 weeks of pregnancy. The operation takes only a few minutes, has few complications, does not require anesthesia, and can be performed on an outpatient basis. Things to note during negative pressure aspiration surgery: Carefully examine before surgery to determine the size and position of the uterus to avoid uterine perforation or incomplete abortion due to failure to completely aspirate the embryonic tissue in the uterine cavity; select the appropriate suction tube number and negative pressure to avoid damaging the cervix and uterine cavity; understand the signs of complete aspiration of the uterine cavity contents; and pay attention to strictly implementing aseptic operations to avoid infection.

3. Curettage

During the 10th to 14th week of pregnancy, the fetus is larger and has harder bones. It is not easy to suck the fetus out with a vacuum suction tube alone, and curettage is required to terminate the pregnancy. Curettage is a procedure in which an oval forceps is inserted into the uterine cavity to break the fetal membrane, then clamp the placenta and gently rotate it to gradually peel the placenta off the uterine wall. If the fetus is small, it can be taken out completely at one time. If it is large, it needs to be broken into pieces and taken out in several times. After removal, it should be confirmed that the fetus and placenta have been completely removed to avoid any residue. After the fetus and its appendages are removed, a negative pressure suction tube is used to gently suck out any remaining tissue along the uterine wall. Performing a curettage is harmful to the female body, so those who are in poor physical condition cannot undergo the surgery immediately. They should wait until their physical condition improves and they can withstand the surgery before considering the surgery. Artificial abortion is the termination of pregnancy within 14 weeks with the help of instruments and drugs. It often causes bleeding, incomplete abortion, empty or missed abortion, uterine perforation, cervical laceration infection, and abortion syndrome. Different treatments should be adopted for different symptoms.

4. Induction of labor

It refers to the period from 14 to 28 weeks in the second trimester of pregnancy. It is a form of artificial abortion. It is used in the late stages of pregnancy to protect the life and health of the mother and fetus. What is referred to as "induced labor" in medicine is what most people call "inducing labor." There are two types of induced labor in late pregnancy: one is used in the middle of pregnancy when the fetus is not yet mature and is a form of artificial abortion; the other is used in the late pregnancy to protect the life and health of the fetus or the mother. The induced labor generally refers to the induction of labor in the late stage of pregnancy. The induced labor introduced below also refers to the induction of labor in the late stage of pregnancy.

At present, the methods of inducing labor commonly used by obstetricians and gynecologists are: 1. Drugs: such as injection of oxytocin or prostaglandins. 2. Breaking the membrane: Using an instrument to puncture the amniotic membrane can achieve the purpose of breaking the membrane, promoting uterine contraction and shortening the labor process. When continued pregnancy may endanger the life and health of the mother or fetus, it is best to use induced labor to deliver the fetus as quickly as possible to protect the mother and fetus. You should not have sexual intercourse for one month after a miscarriage and try to avoid washing your hair or hands and feet with cold water. You should use hot water for bathing.
