What is the maternity knife paper used for?

As the due date approaches, pregnant mothers will become particularly anxious, worrying every day that they will give birth at any time. Before that, it is recommended that pregnant women prepare their delivery items so that they will not be in a rush. So, what is the use of maternal tissue paper? During delivery and after giving birth, you will need to use maternal tissue paper. It will be used for disinfection, internal examination, and collecting amniotic fluid and lochia, so you need to prepare it in advance.

1. Disinfection: Before giving birth, the midwife will disinfect the pregnant mother, and she will need to use her own toilet paper. Because iodine will flow down when applying iodine, you will need toilet paper to pad it and wipe it with toilet paper to avoid getting it everywhere.

2. Internal examination: Before giving birth, the pregnant mother needs to experience labor pains and contractions for several hours, and during this period the doctor needs to perform an internal examination to determine whether the mother can enter labor and give birth. Therefore, during internal examination, many layers of toilet paper need to be placed under the pregnant mother's buttocks to avoid bleeding and disinfectant flowing onto the bed. The hospital does not provide these, you need to prepare them yourself, and you can be more assured of the quality of the ones you prepare yourself.

3. Collecting amniotic fluid: Whether it is a natural birth or a caesarean section, amniotic fluid will flow out during delivery, so at this time a good birthing pad and toilet paper will be placed on the operating table, and the toilet paper is also needed to wipe the flowing amniotic fluid and blood, which can help the pregnant mother clean up and avoid infection problems. Therefore, pregnant mothers need to prepare toilet paper of good quality and good water absorbency.

4. Collecting lochia: We all know that lochia will be discharged after giving birth. At this time, a lot of toilet paper is also needed, because the amount of lochia is particularly large at the beginning. If sanitary napkins are used, it may slow down the recovery of the episiotomy wound. Therefore, toilet paper is still needed in the first few days after giving birth. This makes replacement easier and helps wound recovery, making it less susceptible to bacterial infection. Whether it is a natural birth or a caesarean section, pregnant mothers need to prepare toilet paper, also known as "knife paper". It is definitely beneficial to prepare more.
