Vaginal worms

Vaginal worms

Vaginal worms are a symptom of Trichomonas vaginitis. Trichomonas reproduce rapidly in the vagina, which will affect the vaginal environment and the synthesis of follicles. Therefore, women with Trichomonas vaginitis will experience abdominal pain and vulvar itching. Women need to receive medication immediately, or they can choose the medicated bath method, otherwise it will lead to infertility and menstrual disorders.

What is Trichomonas vaginitis?

In fact, Trichomonas is an extremely tiny protozoan organism that can only be seen under a microscope. It is pear-shaped, transparent and colorless, and has strong vitality. It can survive for 2 days in an environment of 3-5 degrees Celsius and about 10 hours in a dry environment.

Trichomonas does not grow in an environment with a pH value below 5, but once the acid-base balance of the vagina is broken, it is very suitable for Trichomonas to survive, inducing Trichomonas vaginitis! It is precisely because of these characteristics that Trichomonas vaginitis is easy to occur and difficult to cure.

Common cases of Trichomonas infection

Generally speaking, Trichomonas is transmitted through contact with public swimming pools, bathhouses, bath towels, toilets, clothes and some shared equipment, and can also be transmitted through unclean sexual life.

Symptoms of Trichomonas vaginitis

The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge and vulvar itching, in addition to pain, burning, and dyspareunia.

The characteristics of vaginal leucorrhea are: thin, purulent, yellow-green, foamy, and smelly; if combined with a urethral infection, frequent urination, painful urination, and hematuria will occur.

1. Acute infection

It manifests as diffuse vulvovaginitis.

The most common symptoms include increased vaginal discharge, vulvar irritation and itching, and painful or foul-smelling urination. In severe cases, lower abdominal pain may occur.

Symptoms: Vulvar redness and edema; vaginal congestion and increased secretions, ranging from a small amount of thin to a large amount of thick. 10%-30% of women have typical large amounts of foamy yellow-green secretions, which often have a foul odor.

The cervix is congested and edematous, and there is extensive erosion and punctate bleeding on the cervical epithelium, which is called strawberry uterus. Relatively few people have this sign.

2. Chronic infection

Acute infections can become chronic if not treated promptly.

At this time, the clinical symptoms are milder, and may include itching and pain during sexual intercourse. The amount of vaginal secretions is reduced and often mixed with mucus. This period is epidemiologically important and is the main infectious period.

3. Asymptomatic infection

10%-50% of infected women may not have any clinical symptoms. However, 50% of asymptomatic carriers may develop symptoms within six months. This is the most horrible infection!

How to prevent trichomoniasis and prevent recurrence of inflammation?

The most effective way to prevent Trichomonas vaginitis is to eliminate the Trichomonas pathogens.

Pay attention to personal hygiene and menstrual hygiene; do not share underwear and bathing utensils; it is recommended to use showers in public bathrooms and avoid using bathtubs; use public toilets with caution, carry disinfectant wipes with you, and ensure personal hygiene.

Trichomonas vaginalis is a completely sexually transmitted disease. People who do not have sexual intercourse are almost immune to infection. In contrast, people with multiple sexual partners are very likely to be infected. It should be noted that the sexual partners of the patient must also receive treatment to avoid cross infection.

During the treatment, you should pay attention to the hygiene of your private parts, refrain from sexual intercourse, and boil your underwear and washing supplies for 5-10 minutes to kill pathogens.

I hope that female friends will pay more attention to their own health and get checked in time if they find any abnormalities. This is the correct way to maintain health and happiness.
