Shareaholic: Pinterest is expected to surpass Yahoo to become the fourth largest referral traffic source in the world in August 2012

From May to June 2012, the referral traffic from Pinterest on about 200,000 websites in the Shareaholic network increased by 43.7%. From June to July, the increase was 15.97%. Even if the growth rate from June to July is calculated at a lower rate, Pinterest's referral traffic will surpass Yahoo in August.

Now, among the websites that also use Shareaholic as a sharing tool, Pinterest's referral traffic has surpassed Bing and Twitter, and is only 0.1% away from Yahoo, which is about to be surpassed. Currently, Google is still the largest source of referral traffic for Shareaholic member websites, followed by Facebook, and Yahoo ranks third.

Sarah Perez, a reporter for TechCrunch, reported that as early as June, Pinterest had surpassed Bing, Twitter and StumbleUpon in Shareaholic's referral traffic. By the way, Google+ doesn't even appear in Shareaholic's statistical rankings. According to a spokesperson for Shareaholic, Google+ referral traffic accounted for only a negligible 0.06% in July.

Shareaholic said that the company's data is calculated based on referral traffic from more than 200,000 web publishers, which have a monthly audience of more than 270 million people. It is worth noting that Shareaholic's data does not necessarily reflect the situation of the entire Internet, but the data provided by other third-party analysis service providers is generally consistent with Shareaholic's data.
