Does high FSH mean premature ovarian failure?

Does high FSH mean premature ovarian failure?

Fsh is a follicle-stimulating hormone that belongs to the human body. This tissue can stimulate the growth and development of female follicles, and can also stimulate the secretion of female hormones. It is an indispensable part of the female body, and the female ovaries are a more critical part. When premature ovarian failure occurs, it will easily cause some physical diseases. Fsh greater than 40IU/U is likely to be a phenomenon of premature aging.

Does high FSH not necessarily mean premature ovarian failure?

Fsh is follicle-stimulating hormone. The main physiological function of follicle-stimulating hormone is to stimulate the growth, development, and maturation of follicles and promote the secretion of estrogen. So what is the normal range of serum fsh? During puberty, fsh is usually less than 5. The fsh of normal women is between 5 and 10. After menopause, fsh is usually greater than 40. So does high FSH mean premature ovarian failure?

This is not certain. If the FSH is greater than 10, it indicates that the ovarian reserve function is decreased. It is recommended to further check the anti-Mullerian hormone, that is, AMH, to further understand the reserve egg situation. According to the results, you can combine Chinese and Western medicine for conditioning. You should maintain a healthy lifestyle, exercise appropriately, and don't stay up late.

When women experience menopause and ovarian failure before the age of 40, it is called premature ovarian failure. The process from ovarian reserve decline to ovarian failure is gradual. The earliest sign of ovarian failure is decreased follicle sensitivity to FSH and increased FSH levels. When FSH>10U/L, it indicates that ovarian reserve function is reduced. If a patient is younger than 40 years old and has FSH>25U/L for at least two times (four weeks apart), this indicates premature ovarian insufficiency. FSH>40U/L indicates ovarian failure.

A high FSH does not necessarily mean premature ovarian failure. A FSH level greater than 40 IU/L indicates premature ovarian failure. Diagnosis of premature ovarian failure: 1. Age less than 40 years old. 2. Infrequent menstruation or amenorrhea for at least 4 months or more. 3. FSH is greater than 40 IU/L at least twice. The cause of premature ovarian failure is unknown. Clinically, it may be related to genetics, chromosomal abnormalities and iatrogenic factors, such as ovarian tissue damage caused by surgery, local inflammation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which cause oocyte apoptosis.
