Is it serious if a woman has a cyst in her uterus?

Some women who suffer from uterine cysts may feel very confused. Patients may think that they pay attention to private care and sexual precautions in their daily lives, so why do they still suffer from uterine cysts, a terrible female disease? What causes uterine cysts? The editor has collected some information about the causes and treatments of uterine cysts. Women who don’t know about this disease can follow the editor to learn about it.

First, the fibroids develop toward the surface of the uterus and protrude from the surface of the uterus. This is called a subserosal uterine fibroid. It is often connected to the surface of the uterus by a pedicle. This type of fibroid has little effect on conception and is easy to remove surgically. However, when it grows to a certain size, it will affect the smooth progress of delivery.

Second, the fibroids develop toward the uterine cavity, protrude into the uterine cavity, and sometimes protrude to the external os of the cervix and can be found in the vagina. This type of fibroid is called submucosal fibroid, which causes many symptoms, the most common of which are increased menstruation and vaginal discharge with a foul odor.

When submucosal fibroids grow near the internal opening of the fallopian tube or in the upper half of the uterine cavity, they often affect the passage of sperm and prevent the fertilized egg from taking hold and developing. This type of fibroids can be diagnosed through vaginal examination, diagnostic curettage, hysterography or B-ultrasound. All submucosal fibroids diagnosed should be surgically removed. Generally, there is no need for laparotomy, and the tumor can be removed from the vagina through the cervix.

Third, fibroids are confined to the uterine muscle wall, called intramural fibroids, which account for about 60-70% of fibroids. It not only affects conception but also often causes miscarriage or premature birth. Usually, these three types of fibroids grow together to form multiple fibroids or a combination of them, and are less likely to be single.

Through the above introduction by the editor, now everyone should have found the cause of uterine cysts! Uterine cysts may sound scary. But as long as you actively follow the doctor's treatment, it can basically be cured. So patients should not have too much psychological pressure.
