How long does it take for cervical erosion of the third degree to turn into cancer?

Cervical erosion is one of the most common gynecological symptoms. For women who have sexual life, symptoms of cervical erosion are very common. Cervical erosion is not difficult to treat. It only needs to be treated with medication under the guidance of a doctor. However, cervical erosion also has a certain possibility of becoming cancerous. So, how long will it take for third-degree cervical erosion to turn into cancer? This will be introduced below!

1. Will cervical erosion of the third degree turn into cancer?

Whether third-degree cervical erosion will turn into cancer depends on the nature of the disease.

It is not uncommon for cervical erosion to transform into cervical cancer, but the conditions for transformation are not simple, and not all erosion patients will develop cancer. This is worth affirming. Although patients with severe cervical erosion are more likely to develop cancer than those with milder conditions, the prerequisite is that the patient's erosion symptoms have not been cured for a long time and have caused precancerous lesions.

2. What is cervical erosion

Simply put, cervical erosion is caused by the invasion of bacteria on the cervix, which causes the squamous epithelium on the surface to slowly fall off. At this time, the columnar epithelium in the cervical canal takes the opportunity to surround it, making the cervix look red, and some even appear granular, forming cervical erosion. Doctors will classify the erosion into mild, moderate or severe based on the size of the area. Generally speaking, erosion area less than 30% is mild, 30%-60% is moderate, and more than 60% is severe.

3. Symptoms of cervical erosion

1. Pain. This symptom is mainly caused by the presence of inflammation, which will spread to the pelvic cavity along the uterine ligaments, causing women to experience lower abdominal pain. Some women will also suffer from back pain due to inflammation.

2. Many. The most obvious is leucorrhea. Normal leucorrhea should be transparent, but this symptom will increase the amount of leucorrhea, which is mostly light yellow or milky white in color and feels sticky and thick. Sometimes there will be blood in the leucorrhea.

3. Difficult. Once the inflammation spreads to the bladder, the patient will experience difficulty and pain in urination, and some patients even report pain during defecation.

4. Itch. This symptom will cause an increase in leucorrhea, which in turn affects the vaginal environment, causing vaginal inflammation, itching, and even pain.

5. Blood. During intimacy, there may be an odor and possible bleeding.
