Can you get pregnant during the follicular phase?

The egg can only be released after the follicle has matured. The possibility of pregnancy during the follicular phase is lower because the egg is not yet mature. A fully developed follicle can only survive for about eight hours. If you have sex during this period, the chance of pregnancy will be greater. If you exceed this time, the chance of pregnancy will be much lower. Therefore, couples who are preparing for pregnancy must grasp the time of ovulation so that women can conceive successfully.

Can I get pregnant during the follicular phase?

The survival time of the follicle after release is usually about 8 hours. When the B-ultrasound detects that the follicle is higher than 2.0cm, it indicates that ovulation may occur within 48 hours, and the sperm can survive in the female body for up to 48-72 hours after being released. Therefore, when the B-ultrasound examination finds mature follicles, you can start preparing for sexual intercourse. If it is more than 12 hours later, the chance of conception will be relatively weakened. As for whether you are pregnant or not, it is recommended to check with an early pregnancy test strip about 14 days after intercourse.

The time for monitoring follicles should be chosen correctly. The first monitoring is usually started on the 8th day of menstruation, and then monitoring is performed at the same time two days later to observe the increase of follicles until the diameter of the follicles reaches 17 mm. Monitoring is done once a day. When the diameter of the follicles increases to 20 mm, monitoring is done twice a day until ovulation.

If a woman's menstrual cycle is stable for about 28 days, high-quality follicles can usually be found by monitoring the follicles on the 10th day, at which time the diameter of the follicles is usually between 12-15 mm. Monitoring of follicles must be continuous. Even if high-quality follicles are found, it is impossible to stop the ultrasound examination, because high-quality follicles do not mean that they will ovulate or mature.

How long does it take for the ovulatory follicle to mature before ovulation occurs?

The mature egg is usually released within one to two days after the follicle matures. The ovulation day of different women is different. The egg survives in the body for two days after being released. Having sex during this period can increase a woman's chances of successful conception. That is to say, although the ovulation date of different women is different, the date of ovulation is generally similar after the ovaries mature. If the follicles are mature but fail to be discharged, it is usually caused by ovarian dysfunction.

In order to arrange sexual intercourse time reasonably and improve pregnancy rate, it is important to predict women's ovulation period. However, not all women ovulate in the middle of their menstrual cycle. In a woman's menstrual cycle, the period before ovulation is called the follicular phase, during which the egg matures and then ovulates. The period from ovulation to the next menstruation is called the luteal phase, which is the period of development and degeneration of the corpus luteum. Generally speaking, the length of the menstrual cycle is mainly determined by the length of the follicular phase. That is to say, the length of the follicular phase varies greatly, while the luteal phase is relatively fixed, usually around 14 days. The ovulation period is before the luteal phase, so the ovulation period is mostly 14 days before the next menstrual period. Therefore, it is easier to get pregnant if you have sex 2 days before ovulation, during ovulation and within 24 hours after ovulation.
