Vulvar changes after pregnancy

The pregnancy period for women is very long. During this period, some changes will be found in the body. Pregnant women are divided into three stages: early pregnancy, mid-pregnancy and late pregnancy. The changes in the body are different in different stages. As the pregnancy period of women increases, the vulva of pregnant women will also change. Pregnant women should understand it in time. So what are the changes in the vulva after pregnancy?

First, what are the changes in the vulva after pregnancy? Increased secretions. When you are pregnant, the amount of secretions is really annoying. My pants are wet every day, and my panties are becoming more and more yellow, and they become hard after a long time. This situation is normal. After pregnancy, a large amount of hormones in a woman's body stimulate the vaginal mucosa to produce leucorrhea, causing the secretions to increase. However, this secretion is beneficial, as it can moisturize the vagina and maintain normal vaginal acidity and alkalinity. However, if there is obvious itching, odor, or bean curd-like leucorrhea, further examination is needed.

Second, the vagina has a particularly strong odor. After pregnancy, hormones in the body change, causing the pH value of the vagina to change accordingly, resulting in an unpleasant fermentation-like odor from the private parts. But this is still normal. However, in summer, people wear less and the sense of smell of pregnant mothers is more sensitive than when they are not pregnant. Just imagine yourself smelling this smell. It would be really intoxicating. It is easy to sweat in summer. If someone is close to the pregnant mother, they may also smell it. Hey, isn't this a bit embarrassing?

What changes occur in the vulva after pregnancy? The area becomes darker and there are spots on the face. During pregnancy, the secretion of melanocytes increases, and large amounts of estrogen and progesterone have a melanocyte-stimulating effect, which increases melanin and causes pigmentation on the nipples, areola, and vulva of pregnant mothers. This is because these areas were darker before, and now under the influence of these hormones, these areas will become even darker. But it doesn’t matter. After delivery, these hormones will gradually return to normal and the skin will slowly recover. Pigmentation occurs on the cheekbones and accumulates around the eyes, forehead, upper lip, etc., with obvious edges, forming butterfly-shaped brown spots. It disappears spontaneously after delivery.
