Normal hcg values for 9 weeks of pregnancy

Normal hcg values for 9 weeks of pregnancy

After pregnancy, the hvg originally present in the blood and urine will increase. The pregnancy can be determined by testing the hcg value. In the early stages of pregnancy, hcg will double. If it is not within the normal range, it may be that the quality of the embryo is not good. Generally, the value will reach its highest value around 9 weeks of pregnancy, and then decrease to a fixed value. The normal value of hcg at 9 weeks of pregnancy is 10000-100000IU/L.

HCG, also known as human chorionic gonadotropin, is a glycoprotein secreted by trophoblast cells of the placenta. On the 6th day after fertilization, the trophoblast of the fertilized egg is formed and secretes trace amounts of HCG. When the fertilized egg implants on the 7th to 8th day after fertilization, HCG can be detected in the blood. Its concentration increases exponentially with the increase in gestational age, reaching its peak at 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, and then rapidly decreases to 10% of the peak after 1-2 weeks.

That is, the HCG value is at its peak at 9 weeks of pregnancy, and will slowly decrease after 12 weeks of pregnancy.

2The role of HCG value during pregnancy

We often want to know the normal value of HCG, but what is the role of HCG during pregnancy?

1. Determine whether you are pregnant

In the early stages of pregnancy, the HCG level can be used to determine whether you are pregnant. After a normal woman becomes pregnant, the hCG level in her blood will increase rapidly. For example, 0.2-1 week of pregnancy, the HCG value is 5-50; 1-2 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 50-500; 2-3 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 100-5000; 3-4 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 500-10000; 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 1000-50000; 5-6 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 10000-100000; 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 15000-200000; 2-3 months of pregnancy, the HCG value is 10000-100000.

2. Determine whether the pregnancy is normal

① Ectopic pregnancy

The HCG value of a normal pregnant woman will increase several times every two days. If the result of a blood draw every two days increases by less than 66%, that is, the blood hCG test is lower than the level of normal intrauterine pregnancy, but higher than the hCG level when not pregnant, then it is possible that it is an ectopic pregnancy.

②Hydrogenic pregnancy

When a pregnant woman has a hydatidiform mole, the blood HCG level is usually higher than the normal value for the corresponding gestational age, and will continue to rise as the uterus grows after 12 weeks of amenorrhea. The normal HCG level in pregnancy will begin to decrease after 12 weeks of pregnancy.

③ As a basis for preserving pregnancy

If hCG continues to decrease, it means that it is not advisable to continue preserving the pregnancy. If hCG continues to rise, it means that the pregnancy preservation is successful. If the hCG level in the blood of a woman in early pregnancy is significantly low (below 2500 IU/L) or shows a downward trend during continuous monitoring, there is a possibility of miscarriage or stillbirth.
