How to take care of the confinement after caesarean section

Caesarean section is as common a method of delivery as natural birth. Of course, you still need to take a month off after a caesarean section, and post-caesarean care is also very important. The confinement period after a caesarean section is different from that after a natural birth. For example, there are certain differences in the confinement time and diet during the confinement period. So how should women confine themselves after a caesarean section?

1. The confinement period after a caesarean section is actually not much different from that after a natural birth. During the confinement period, you must be careful not to eat foods that are difficult to digest. You can eat some fruits appropriately, but it is best to steam them before eating. Do not catch a cold, do not overwork, and try to avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. Stay away from mobile phones, computers and other electrical appliances with strong radiation. Try not to watch TV to avoid eye fatigue. Be sure to keep the vulva clean and dry. You can wash the vulva with warm water every day. Try to choose cotton underwear and change it frequently.

2. For mothers who give birth naturally, the confinement period is usually about six weeks, and the wounds of the uterus and placenta detachment will heal; while for mothers who give birth by caesarean section, it will take at least 45 days to recover. New mothers who have undergone cesarean section will get out of bed a little later. They can turn over and move their legs with the help of family or nurses 12 hours after delivery. They can practice turning over and sitting up 24 hours after the operation. If the body allows, try to walk around as soon as possible. This can promote blood circulation, accelerate wound healing, and prevent intestinal adhesions.

3. After giving birth, the mother will begin to discharge lochia. The new mother can judge the recovery of the uterus by observing the discharge of lochia. Generally, it will be discharged in 4 weeks. During this period, special attention should be paid to the hygiene of the lower body. Mothers who have undergone caesarean section should pay attention to keeping the wound dry during this period. When the body needs to be cleaned, it is best to wipe it with a wet towel. Generally, mothers who have undergone caesarean section can take a shower about two weeks after delivery. Of course, it depends on the condition of the wound.
