Cervical intraepithelial lesions

Cervical intraepithelial lesions

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia refers to the symptoms before uterine cancer. This disease can cause cancer in the uterus and affect the physiological function of the uterus. Patients need to undergo freezing or laser treatment. Moreover, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is a recurrent disease, and women need to pay attention to post-operative care measures. Now let us learn about the treatment and causes of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

Cervical intraepithelial lesions are a group of precancerous lesions closely related to invasive cervical cancer, reflecting the continuous process of the occurrence and development of cervical cancer. In 2003, the World Health Organization classified cervical squamous cell lesions as CIN in the Classification of Tumors of Female Reproductive Organs. Cervical squamous cell lesions are divided into three grades according to the severity of the lesions: adenocarcinoma I, adenocarcinoma II and adenocarcinoma III.

For the treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, in addition to conservative observation, the main treatment methods include ablative treatment and excisional treatment. Ablative treatment includes cryotherapy, laser, electrocoagulation, cryotherapy, etc. The operation is simple and the effect is clear. It is used to treat type I transformation zone with sufficient colposcopy, relatively small lesions, and located on the surface of the cervix.

For transformation zone type II, the choice should be cautious. Before treatment, a full evaluation is needed to exclude invasive cancer. The effective rate is about 90%, but long-term follow-up may be required after treatment. Hysteroscopic resection treatment can also be used. Commonly used methods include loop electrosurgical excision procedure, cold knife cone biopsy, etc.
