Belly tightness

Belly tightness

Many women will experience certain belly symptoms during pregnancy, such as intermittent tightening of the belly, which is a symptom that occurs in the middle and late stages of pregnancy. There are many reasons that lead to this symptom, such as pregnant women catching a cold, high work pressure, constipation or too much activity. Next, I will introduce to you some relevant knowledge about tight belly of pregnant women!

1. What causes a tight and hard belly?

1. Catching a cold, kicking off the covers at night, or using too much air conditioning can all cause a hard belly.

2. Working mothers are under great pressure from work, and mental tension and lack of relaxation can also cause a hard belly. Therefore, it is best for pregnant mothers not to do work that is too stressful, and to change positions in time to find easier jobs.

3. Constipation. Constipation can also cause the belly to tighten. Because it requires force, the pressure in the abdominal cavity increases, and the baby will be very uncomfortable in the stomach. So if constipation cannot be relieved, you should go and rest for a while and do not stay in the toilet for a long time.

4. Too much activity or too intense movements. Some mothers stand up suddenly after sitting for a long time. This is not good and will cause the belly to feel tight.

Especially in the later stages of pregnancy, the amount of exercise should be reduced appropriately, and gentle walking should be the main approach. Do not walk too far or for too long, and do not climb stairs excessively, as these will cause the belly to become tight and hard, and even worse, may cause premature birth.

2. How to relieve tight and hard belly?

1. When your belly feels hard, don't be too nervous. It's best to sit down or lie down to rest.

2. For working mothers, if your belly feels tight and hard due to work, stop the work at hand, go for a walk outdoors, promote blood circulation, breathe some fresh air, and listen to some soothing music (such as a Walkman).

3. If your belly becomes hard and painful, you need to pay attention. Some mothers with constipation may also experience stomach pain if they stay in the toilet for too long.

At this time, you should stop immediately, stand up slowly, return to your position or bed to rest. If it is not constipation but menstrual pain and bleeding, you should seek medical attention immediately. In the early stages of pregnancy, you should also rule out the possibility of threatened miscarriage and be careful.

3. Is the belly hard or is it due to uterine contraction pain?

Many mothers may still not be able to tell the difference between the two. In fact, it is very simple. Uterine contractions are regular. If each contraction lasts for 1 minute and the interval is 5 minutes or less, then delivery is imminent. It is important to note that a hard belly does not hurt. It lasts for less than a minute and your belly will also become hard when you sleep at night.
