Fetal hiccups decrease in late pregnancy

Fetal hiccups decrease in late pregnancy

It is not a big deal if hiccups decrease in the late pregnancy, because in the late pregnancy, the fetus swallows amniotic fluid to exercise the lungs, and the alveoli continue to increase in the amniotic fluid, which will cause the fetus to hiccup. If the hiccups decrease, it only means that the baby's activity has decreased and will not affect the normal development of the fetus. Hiccups in newborns are caused by factors such as excessive tension and cold.

Will the baby's hiccups decrease in the later stages of pregnancy? Starting around 28 weeks in the late pregnancy, the fetus will continue to swallow amniotic fluid in the mother's body to exercise the lungs' breathing, and the alveoli will continue to grow in the amniotic fluid. Just like adults eating, they keep swallowing. Between the chest cavity and abdominal cavity of the fetus, there is a thick muscle membrane like a hat, called the diaphragm, which separates the chest cavity and abdominal cavity. Like other organs in the body, the diaphragm also has nerve distribution and blood supply. When the stimulus that causes hiccups is transmitted to the brain, the brain will issue a command to cause the diaphragm to have paroxysmal and spasmodic contractions, and hiccups will occur.

Why do newborns always hiccup?

1. Too nervous

Try to recall if something has happened recently that scared the child and made him overly nervous. If the child continues to be nervous, the body will need more oxygen, and the baby's little mouth will constantly absorb air and burp continuously.

2. Catch a cold

If the child suddenly and loudly burps continuously without interference from other diseases, you need to pay special attention to it, as this is probably a signal from the baby that he has caught a cold.

3. Drinking too much milk or the milk is too cold

Improper diet for babies can also be a contributing factor. If a baby is given too much milk or drinks milk too quickly, he or she will inhale a lot of air and burp constantly. In addition, if the milk given to the baby is too cold or the baby is fed too many cold medicines, it will interfere with the normal functioning of the spleen and stomach, causing stomach qi to rise and cause hiccups.
