How many days are there in the full moon?

As women, we are all very familiar with the confinement period after childbirth, because it is a traditional custom in our country. After giving birth to a baby, a woman's body will become weak and she must recover through the confinement period. During the recovery period, women need to pay attention to many issues, such as not eating cold drinks, spicy food, going out, or being exposed to the wind. So how many days does the full moon last?

What will happen if you don't take good care of the postpartum confinement?

1. "Mom's wrist"

Many new mothers will have this symptom, which is stenosing tendon bursitis of the wrist. When you find that your thumb is often sore or weak, or even painful to pick up chopsticks, then you have won the prize.

This is tenosynovitis caused by overuse of the wrist, holding the baby for a long time, and breastfeeding the baby. What's more painful is that you can't apply medicated oil, for fear that the baby will smell it and stop drinking milk. Sometimes I can't even hold the baby to change diapers, and I can't lift my thumb, making it difficult for the baby to go to the toilet. Some mothers keep their mobile phones in their hands during the confinement period. After giving birth, their muscles all over their body become weak, and overuse of a certain muscle can easily lead to chronic inflammation.

2. Prone to back pain

Many mothers have this feeling: they feel particularly healthy before giving birth and are full of energy no matter what they do. But after giving birth, my back and waist would ache after squatting for just three to five minutes. When it rains, you can feel the soreness without bending over. This is also a bad consequence of not getting enough rest during the confinement period and frequently using muscles.

Failure to sit properly during the confinement period, getting out of bed too early to do housework, bending over for long periods of time or always squatting to bathe the baby or wash diapers can cause damage to the mother's waist and back while she is still in the recovery period, thus leaving permanent symptoms.

How long does it take to sit in confinement after childbirth?

Confinement refers to the period of one month (for normal delivery) or 42 days (for caesarean section) that a pregnant woman takes to recuperate after giving birth. The practice of confinement can be traced back to the "Book of Rites" in the Western Han Dynasty, where it was called "Yuenei". It has a history of more than 2,000 years and is a necessary ritual behavior after childbirth. From the perspective of sociology and medicine, "confinement month" is a critical period to help mothers smoothly pass through the physiological and psychological transitions in their lives.
