How to treat dry stool after childbirth

Dry stool after childbirth is a normal reaction after childbirth. This is because the amount of exercise after childbirth is relatively small, and the intake of high-protein foods is too much, which reduces the intake of crude fiber foods, so dry stool and postpartum constipation will occur. When the stool is dry, it is very unfavorable for postpartum recovery and milk secretion, and requires timely treatment and improvement. Let’s take a look at how to treat dry stools after childbirth?

How to treat dry stool after childbirth

1. High-fiber diet: Dietary fiber itself is not absorbed, but it can absorb water in the intestinal cavity to increase stool volume, stimulate the colon, and enhance motility. Foods rich in dietary fiber include wheat bran or brown rice, vegetables, and fruits rich in pectin such as mangoes and bananas (note: unripe fruits contain tannic acid which will aggravate constipation).

2. Replenish water: Drink more water. It is recommended to drink more than 1500 ml of water every day to keep the intestines sufficiently hydrated and facilitate the excretion of feces.

3. Provide sufficient amounts of B vitamins and folic acid: Enriching foods with B vitamins can promote the secretion of digestive juices, maintain and promote intestinal peristalsis, and facilitate defecation. Such as whole grains, yeast, beans and their products. Among vegetables, spinach and cabbage contain a lot of folic acid, which has a good laxative effect.

4. Increase the intake of gas-producing foods: Eating more gas-producing foods can promote faster intestinal peristalsis and facilitate defecation. Such as onions, radishes, garlic sprouts, etc.

5. Increase fat supply: Appropriately increase high-fat food. Vegetable oil can directly moisten the intestines, and the decomposition product fatty acids can stimulate intestinal peristalsis. The kernels of dried fruits (such as walnut kernels, pine nuts, various melon seeds, almonds, peach kernels, etc.) contain a lot of oil, which has the effect of lubricating the intestines and promoting bowel movements.

What to eat to increase milk production quickly

Usually, when the mother-in-law hears her daughter-in-law say that she doesn't have enough milk, the first thing she thinks of is to prepare more foods that are conducive to milk production, such as various broths. Below we will introduce several foods that are beneficial for milk production after childbirth.

Dish 1: Pig's trotter and enoki mushroom soup

Remove the stems of the enoki mushrooms and soak them for more than half an hour, then wash and cut into small pieces; prepare the pig's trotters and try to chop them into small pieces; put the pig's trotters in a casserole, add water and boil over high heat; then add the enoki mushrooms and appropriate amount of rock sugar, and simmer until the trotters are soft.

Dish 2: Lactation-promoting soup with loofah seeds and silver carp

Clean the silver carp and cook it whole together with the chopped loofah into soup. If you feel the taste is a bit bland, you can add some soy sauce before eating it, but it is best not to add salt. Drink it once a day.

Dish three: Pork bone lactation soup

Add water and tongcao to the processed pork bones and cook for about 2 hours, until only a small bowl of pork bone soup is left, then add appropriate amount of soy sauce and serve.

Dish 4: Tongcao crucian carp lactation soup

Remove the internal organs of the crucian carp and wash it clean, add the tongcao and boil it into soup. Drink it twice a day for more than 3 days.
