Is menstruation a safe period?

Is menstruation a safe period?

Women will have their period for a few days every month. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. During the menstrual period, women should be careful not to eat cold food or drink alcohol. The normal duration of menstruation is generally between three and seven days. The safe period and dangerous period need to be calculated based on the duration of menstruation. Some female friends don’t know how to calculate the safe period and think that the period just after menstruation is the safe period. So is it a safe period when menstruation happens to be over? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. Is the menstrual period a safe period?

The safe period is just after the menstruation. The ovulation period is calculated according to the regular menstrual cycle. That is, the ovulation period is about 14 days before your next menstruation. The surrounding 3-5 days are the ovulation period, and the rest of the time is the safe period. Under normal circumstances, if the menstruation has just ended and it ends within 1 week, this period is likely to be a safe period. If menstruation comes once every 27-28 days, the safe period is within 3-4 days after the end of menstruation. So the period just after the menstruation ends is the safe period. It is not easy to get pregnant during sex at this time, but it is generally not a big problem. If you have irregular menstruation, there is no way to know the ovulation period, but the safe period is definitely the period just after the menstruation ends. Generally, it is easier to get pregnant by having sex about 14 days before the next menstrual period. If your menstrual cycle is irregular, you can buy ovulation test strips. When there are two bars on the ovulation test strips, it is the ovulation period, and it is easier to get pregnant during sexual intercourse at this time. If there is only one line on the menstrual ovulation test paper, it is a safe period. Therefore, the safe period is just after the menstruation ends. There is no problem at this time and you will not get pregnant.

2. What is the safe period

The safe period usually refers to the period in the menstrual cycle when ovulation does not occur. Many women use the safe period method for contraception, but this method of contraception has poor safety. Under normal circumstances, the human body ovulates once a month. Under abnormal circumstances, sporadic ovulation may also occur, and sporadic ovulation can also lead to conception. If the menstrual cycle is 30 days, the safe period is 1-7 days of the menstrual cycle, or even 10 days. After more than 10 days, it is close to the ovulation period. Some women have longer menstrual cycles, and the safe period is difficult to calculate. Therefore, the rhythm method of contraception is not recommended.

3. How to calculate the safe period?

Women usually ovulate 14 days before the next menstrual period. The 4 to 5 days before and after ovulation are the fertile period, and the rest of the time is less likely to conceive, so it is called the "safe period." Women with regular menstrual cycles can identify the time of ovulation from changes in cervical mucus discharged from the vagina and changes in basal body temperature. They can use contraception by simply suppressing sexual activity during the fertile period without using any other drugs, or they can take contraceptive measures only during the fertile period, which is called "natural contraception." Some women do not observe cervical mucus to determine the time of ovulation, but instead calculate the ovulation period according to general rules and adjust their sexual life accordingly. This is called "safe period" contraception.
