What to do if you have breast pain

Breast pain is normal for women. Some pain is caused by uncomfortable clothing, while other pain is caused by illness. So, what should you do if you have breast pain? First of all, everyone needs to know why their breasts are painful. Is it normal pain during lactation or pain caused by disease infection? Because the causes are different, the treatments are also different.

Before, during or after menstruation, women may experience unbearable nipple itching or pain that makes them unable to wear clothes, which gradually improves after the period ends. This is called "menstrual nipple itching and pain." The nipple belongs to the liver, so this disease is mainly attributed to the liver. The main causes of this disease are qi stagnation, blood stasis and qi and blood deficiency.

(1) Qi stagnation and blood stasis: emotional damage, liver depression and qi stagnation, poor blood circulation, and blood stasis in the nipples. During menstruation, qi and blood are exuberant, aggravating blood stasis and thus causing this disease.

(2) Insufficiency of Qi and blood: After menstruation, Yin blood flows downward, Qi is lost along with blood, liver blood is deficient, spleen qi is deficient, nipples lose nourishment from Qi and blood, or dry blood generates wind, resulting in itching and pain.

Please check your age. If you have any questions, please go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. I wish you good health!

1. Breast pain during adolescence: The earliest breast pain in girls usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. At this time, girls' breasts begin to develop, with the nipples first bulging and a slight feeling of pain. After menarche, it will disappear on its own as the breasts mature during puberty.

2. Premenstrual breast pain: Many women experience fullness, hardness, and tenderness in the breasts during menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts may become swollen and painful even with slight vibrations or collisions, and the original granules or nodules may become more obvious. This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of the breast interstitial tissue. After the menstrual period, the above changes disappear.

3. Breast tenderness during pregnancy: Some women experience breast tenderness around 40 days of pregnancy due to changes in estrogen levels in the body, which causes breast hyperplasia and breast enlargement. In severe cases, the pain may last throughout the pregnancy and no treatment is required.
