HPV vaccine in Beijing

What are the side effects of the HPV vaccine? The HPV vaccine that everyone has been looking forward to for a long time has been launched in China. Today I will tell you whether the HPV vaccine will cause any harm to the body. Let me explain to you in detail about the HPV vaccine.

HPV vaccine side effects

Vaccine safety and common side effects

The safety of the vaccine in the general population has been adequately established. To date, more than 57 million HPV vaccines have been administered, and no serious complications have been found with the vaccine. Common side effects after vaccination include mild pain, muscle tension, partial edema, lumps, partial redness of the skin, headache, fever, nausea, dizziness, and vomiting. Some patients faint during vaccination, so you can consider lying down for the vaccination and staying for observation for 15 minutes after the injection. If the patient's side effects after vaccination are consistent with an allergic reaction, subsequent vaccination should be cautious or stopped.

Does the HPV vaccine have any side effects?

After all, the safety of the HPV vaccine has been verified by a series of safety organizations, and long-term clinical trials have been conducted on the side effects of the HPV vaccine, which have shown that there are no serious side effects of the HPV vaccine. Like other vaccines, some local pain, vomiting, dizziness, fever, etc. may occur after vaccination.

HPV vaccine efficacy

After vaccination with the HPV vaccine, along with a significant reduction in the infection rates of HPV-16 and HPV-18, the frequency of related vaginal cancer, vulvar cancer, anal cancer, and head and neck cancer is also expected to decrease. If the planned vaccination and screening programs are successfully implemented, HPV vaccination is expected to reduce the lifetime risk of cervical cancer by 35% to 80%.

HPV vaccination is a dedicated tool for primary prevention. However, getting the vaccine does not mean that you will not need to undergo cervical cancer screening in the future, because cervical cancer caused by HPV genotypes other than HPV-16 and HPV-18 accounts for up to 30% of all cervical cancer cases.
