How to treat vaginitis

How to treat vaginitis

Vaginitis is a common gynecological disease among women. It can cause great harm to women's physical health and easily lead to some complications. Vaginitis needs to be treated in time. You can take medication for treatment and use external washes for treatment. You need to pay more attention to your personal hygiene and do not use public toilets casually.

How to treat vaginitis?

When treating vaginitis, patients can use vaginal suppositories with anti-trichomoniasis effects, and also use some external ointments and apply them to the genitals. The treatment should be continued for at least about 2 weeks, because vaginitis is prone to recurrence.

Cause Analysis

One of the causes of vaginitis is that the patient may have come into contact with unclean toilet seats in public toilets that are contaminated with bacteria. In addition, frequent abortions are also one of the causes of vaginitis.

Precautions

Patients with vaginitis need to wear cotton underwear and change their underwear frequently. The washed underwear should be dried in the sun.

【Treatment principles】

1. Take vaginal secretions for pathogen examination. Usually the diagnosis can be made under a microscope, and culture is performed if necessary. Candidal vulvovaginal disease requires bacterial culture, and drug sensitivity testing must be performed after the pathogens are obtained, and antibacterial drugs must be selected according to different pathogens. In case of simultaneous infection with two pathogens, such as candidal vulvovaginitis and trichomoniasis, two antibacterial drugs can be used at the same time, or local medication can be used to treat candidal vulvovaginitis first and then local medication to treat trichomoniasis.

2. The cause of the disease should be eliminated at the same time, such as discontinuing the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics and controlling diabetes.

3. Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment.

4. The use of antibacterial drugs must be completed according to the course of treatment, because the vaginal epithelium is multi-layered, with up to 45 layers during the menstrual cycle, and the mucosa has many wrinkles. If the treatment is not thorough, recurrence is likely. Treatment of bacterial vaginosis should routinely be continued for another course after the next menstrual period.

5. Patients with simple candidal vulvovaginal disease should first use local vaginal medication; patients with severe or multiple recurring cases should use systemic and local antibiotics at the same time; the course of antibiotic treatment for patients with multiple recurring cases should be extended or used intermittently for prevention.
