The harm after abortion

The harm after abortion

Perhaps in the eyes of most young people, abortion is just an operation. Because of the advanced medical technology nowadays, there is no need to worry about any harm caused by abortion. In fact, abortion should be understood from several aspects. First of all, you must choose a regular hospital for abortion, and you must also choose the abortion plan according to the month of pregnancy. There may be some complications after abortion, and regular check-ups are the most important.

So what are the dangers of abortion? In fact, multiple abortions are harmful to the body in three main aspects: on the one hand, the body's physical condition is relatively weak after the abortion, making it more susceptible to infection. On the other hand, repeated artificial abortions will increase the incidence of endometriosis and ectopic pregnancy, causing secondary dysmenorrhea. Thirdly, miscarriage may also be caused by blood type incompatibility between the pregnant woman and the fetus.

Abortion is a last resort remedial measure after contraceptive failure. Generally speaking, one or two artificial abortions occasionally do not have any adverse effects on women's health, especially in early pregnancy, when women can recover quickly after a vacuum suction abortion. Although abortion is a minor surgery, it is not performed under direct vision. Operations such as suction and curettage can only be performed by hand. Sometimes complications or sequelae may occur due to careless operation, such as incomplete suction, uterine bleeding, uterine inflammation, uterine perforation, endometriosis, infertility, etc. Therefore, it is not advisable to have too many abortions, otherwise it will have adverse effects on health.

What are the dangers of abortion? First of all, the body will be weaker after an abortion. The cervix is not closed, making ascending infection more likely to occur. Especially when the body's resistance is poor, bacteria can enter the uterine cavity along the vagina and cervix, and even invade the fallopian tubes on both sides, causing endometritis, with symptoms such as fever, lower abdominal pain, and increased white blood cell count. Some people have no symptoms of acute inflammation, only dull pain in the lower abdomen, which worsens when tired, after sexual intercourse, and before and after menstruation. If the acute phase is not treated promptly and thoroughly, it can turn into a chronic inflammation, often affecting both fallopian tubes. If the fallopian tubes are blocked by adhesions, it can lead to infertility.

In addition, repeated abortions will increase the incidence of pelvic endometriosis and cause secondary dysmenorrhea. Inflammation of the fallopian tube causes the inner wall of the tube to become rough, and scar stenosis forms in some areas.

When the egg is fertilized and moves through the fallopian tube toward the uterus, it will be blocked and stop at these narrow parts, causing a tubal pregnancy (also the most common type of ectopic pregnancy), and finally causing a fallopian tube rupture or massive intra-abdominal bleeding, which can be life-threatening in severe cases. Moreover, multiple abortions may also cause miscarriage due to blood type incompatibility between the pregnant woman and the fetus.

The antigens inherited by the fetus from the father are precisely those that the mother does not have. These antigens can invade the mother's body and cause the mother to produce antibodies to resist them. When the mother becomes pregnant again, this antibody can enter the fetal blood circulation through the placenta, causing hemolytic disease in the fetus, severe anemia and death. This kind of incompatibility between mother and baby often means that the first baby can survive, but the second and subsequent babies cannot survive. Therefore, young women should cherish their first pregnancy.
