If you are undergoing in vitro fertilization, you need to pay more attention to many things than pregnant women who conceive naturally. After all, you cannot engage in strenuous exercise or sexual intercourse before the transplant is successful. So, after a successful transplant, how long should the pregnant mother do an ultrasound? In fact, this is the same as for pregnant women with normal pregnancy. It is best to perform an ultrasound examination from the 11th to 27th week after the fertilized egg has successfully implanted. Normally, during about 6 weeks of intrauterine pregnancy, B-ultrasound can display the image of the intrauterine gestational sac. At this time, you can check the development of the gestational sac and rule out ectopic pregnancy. The early pregnancy, especially before 8 weeks of pregnancy, is a critical period for the formation of fetal organs. It is also an important stage that can easily lead to fetal malformations. Ultrasound examination is usually not required. Except in the following situations: One is vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, in which case abnormal pregnancy, such as ectopic pregnancy, hydatidiform mole, and missed abortion, needs to be ruled out. The other type is patients with pelvic masses or uterine fibroids before or during early pregnancy. B-ultrasound examination is needed to assist in diagnosis and provide a basis for future treatment. The third type is those whose menopausal period is unclear and whose gestational age is difficult to estimate correctly based on symptoms and signs. It is not recommended for pregnant women within 18 weeks of pregnancy to undergo B-ultrasound in the early stages of pregnancy (1 to 3 months), especially within 12 weeks of pregnancy. Because too many B-ultrasounds may be the "culprit" of abnormal embryonic cell division and human brain formation, as well as fetal skeletal maldevelopment, malformation or stillbirth. However, if a pregnant woman experiences a worrying situation in the early stages, such as vaginal bleeding or sudden abdominal pain, using B-ultrasound to determine whether the embryo is alive and whether the pregnancy can continue; whether there is an abnormal pregnancy like ectopic pregnancy or hydatidiform mole is the most direct and reliable method. The older the gestational age is in the second trimester (4 to 6 months), the smaller the impact of ultrasound on the fetus. Therefore, under normal circumstances, expectant mothers will have their first B-ultrasound after 20 weeks. It can accurately diagnose whether the fetus is deformed and observe the activity status of internal organs; it can quickly give "answers" to those fetuses that are highly suspected, such as anencephaly, hydrocephalus, meningocele in neural tube defects, umbilical cord abnormalities, digestive tract abnormalities, conjoined twins, microcephaly, etc. |
