Premenstrual temperature

Premenstrual temperature

Menstruation refers to women's menstruation, and the normal physiological cycle of women is about 28 days or 30 days. It is normal for menstruation to be delayed for a few days. The body is prone to some changes before menstruation, which may cause the body temperature to rise slightly. This is a phenomenon caused by estrogen in the body. You need to pay attention to your physical health and keep a happy mood.

Will my body temperature be high before my period?

Menstruation is a well-known physiological phenomenon. During the menstrual cycle, a woman's body temperature fluctuates. It is often slightly lower in the first half of the menstrual cycle and slightly higher in the second half. Why does the body temperature rise before menstruation?

This is because in addition to ovulation, the ovaries also secrete hormones, mainly estrogen and progesterone. Before ovulation, the main process is the growth and maturation of the follicles, with the main secretion of estrogen. After ovulation, the follicle forms a corpus luteum, which can produce two hormones, namely estrogen and progesterone. Progesterone can stimulate the body temperature center and cause the body temperature to rise slightly. The body temperature of a normal woman can rise by 0.3-0.5 degrees Celsius after ovulation.

People can measure changes in body temperature by checking their basal body temperature. The method is to measure your own temperature after waking up from a long sleep of more than 6-15 hours and before doing any activity. After getting up, record the measured temperature on a basal body temperature sheet, and do this every day to draw a curve.

The normal curve is slightly lower before ovulation and lowest during ovulation; after ovulation, due to the thermogenic effect of progesterone, the body temperature is higher than that in the follicular phase. Therefore, the normal curve is biphasic. In an anovulatory menstrual cycle lacking progesterone, there is no regular change as mentioned above, and the body temperature is consistent and monophasic.

In order to have a healthy body, women need to keep a happy mood and optimistic emotions in life. Every woman must first learn to self-regulate, relieve psychological pressure, and eliminate all kinds of negative psychological stimulation.

It is best to measure your temperature with an oral temperature meter at the same time and in the same place. Generally speaking, a woman's body temperature is always around 36.5 degrees before ovulation; during ovulation, the body temperature drops slightly, usually by about 0.2 degrees, and then rises to around 37 degrees after ovulation, continuing until the next menstruation, and then returns to the original body temperature level.
