Leg pain after pregnancy

Leg pain after pregnancy is a symptom that many pregnant women experience. This symptom will have a great impact on the patient's health. If the pregnant woman is not in a good mental state, it will also affect the development of the fetus. So what is the effective way to relieve leg pain in pregnant women? Here are some tips on how to relieve leg pain during pregnancy!

1. Calcium supplement

For leg pain caused by calcium deficiency, it is recommended to eat more foods containing calcium, such as pork bones, milk, eggs, beans, etc., which can increase the calcium content in the body, thereby alleviating or even eliminating the symptoms of leg pain.

2. Eat less sweets

Eating too many sweets during pregnancy will not only make you gain weight and cause your blood sugar to rise, but it will also easily lead to the loss of calcium and B vitamins, thus causing symptoms of leg pain. Therefore, pregnant women are advised to eat less sweets.

3. Foot bath

It is recommended that pregnant women soak their feet in hot water of appropriate temperature every day. The water temperature should be around 40 degrees. Soak for 20 minutes each time. It can not only relieve fatigue, but also relax muscles and tendons, promote blood circulation, and thus improve the symptoms of leg pain.

4. Raise your legs

Some pregnant women will experience leg pain when sleeping, mainly because of lower limb edema caused by enlarged uterus. It is recommended to raise the legs when sleeping to relieve leg pain caused by leg edema.

5. Pinch the Achilles tendon

The Achilles tendon is commonly known as the lazy tendon and is located at the upper back of the heel. Lying on the bed, use the middle sections of the thumbs and index fingers of both hands to pinch the Achilles tendons on both sides with a little force. Pinch 20 to 30 times as much as you can tolerate.

6. Calf push

If the back of the calf is numb and painful, push the calf; if the outside of the calf is numb and painful, push the side of the calf close to the little toe. The method is to sit on a stool, use the base of your palm or the thenar to maintain pressure and push down from top to bottom. You can apply some "massage lotion" or use a layer of soft cloth, and push 20 to 30 times.

7. Acupressure

The first acupoint is at the midpoint of the line connecting the ischial tuberosity (the tip of the bone that can be felt in the center of the gluteal groove) and the greater trochanter of the femur (the bone protruding on the outside of the hip bone). The second acupoint is in the center of the back of the thigh. The third acupoint is in the center of the calf. The fourth is behind the medial malleolus. Kneel on the bed and press the acupoints with your middle finger or thumb. It is best to feel a sore, numb and swollen feeling. Press each acupoint for 1 minute.
