What to do if you have brown discharge during pregnancy

Many women's bodies gradually undergo some changes after pregnancy as the fetus grows, and it is also common to have brown secretions during pregnancy. Usually, changes in the pregnant woman's hormones can easily lead to this situation, or cervical disease can easily lead to brown secretions in the private parts, which requires timely examination and treatment.

What to do if you have brown discharge during pregnancy

1. Stimulate menstruation

Some female friends found out that they were pregnant, but they also had brown discharge and thought it was menstruation. In fact, this is stimulated menstruation. It is harmless to the health of pregnant women and fetuses and usually occurs within three months of pregnancy.

2. Biochemical pregnancy

Biochemical pregnancy is called subclinical miscarriage or hidden miscarriage, which is mainly caused by the failure of the fertilized egg to implant. The characteristic of biochemical pregnancy is that the HCG value is relatively high, and the urine test with early pregnancy test paper will also be positive, but the gestational sac cannot be detected by B-ultrasound. At the same time, brown secretions will appear, and normal menstruation will come afterwards.

3. Cervical disease

The appearance of brown discharge in early pregnancy is also related to cervical disease. For example, if brown discharge appears after sexual intercourse, it is basically related to cervical erosion. In addition to cervical erosion, cervical polyps can also cause brown discharge.

4. Ectopic pregnancy

If the fertilized egg does not implant in the uterine cavity but pregnancy occurs, after excluding biochemical pregnancy, it will be diagnosed as an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is characterized by brown discharge and abdominal pain that continues to get worse. Ectopic pregnancy needs to be treated promptly, otherwise it will cause great harm.

If brown discharge occurs after pregnancy, it must be taken seriously. It is best to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis in time. After finding the cause, effective measures should be taken to treat it, so as to avoid causing more serious harm to women's health.

Is brown discharge normal during pregnancy?

1. When there is brown discharge in the early stages of pregnancy, it will go away after a while. Be careful not to overwork and get more rest. There is no problem if the brown discharge is very light in color. If the color is darker, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up.

2. In addition, a blood HCG test should be done to confirm pregnancy. If you are indeed pregnant and have vaginal bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, you need to go to the hospital for a vaginal B-ultrasound examination to determine whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy. If it is an intrauterine pregnancy, you also need to do a blood HCG and progesterone test to determine the hormone levels and fetal development. If it is an ectopic pregnancy, it is best to undergo electronic laparoscopic surgery to maximize the preservation of organ and functional integrity. You need to go to the hospital for examination to make a clear diagnosis and receive symptomatic treatment.
