What are the special things to pay attention to on the day of confinement?

Women who have just given birth are most looking forward to the day when they leave the confinement period, because women cannot go out, take a bath, or overuse their eyes during the confinement period. So what should women pay attention to on the day when they leave the confinement period? In fact, women have to pay more attention to their daily life and diet during the confinement period, because only by properly regulating the body of the mother can she recover as soon as possible. Let's learn about the things that need to be paid attention to during the confinement period.

1. Are there any particular requirements for confinement?

Drink more warm boiled water and avoid cold drinks. Beverages and alcoholic drinks are not suitable for new mothers during the confinement period. They should drink more warm boiled water to replenish the water lost in the body during excessive sweating. Never drink ice water or consume large amounts of cold drinks just because the weather is hot or you are afraid of sweating. If you are worried about the fruits getting cold, you can squeeze them into juice and drink them. Do not eat raw or cold food. Vegetables can be blanched or fried, and fruits can be squeezed into juice. Put the cup of juice into hot water and drink it after 10 minutes. Or you can boil the fruit into fruit tea and drink it.

2. Food taboos during confinement

1. Astringent food. After delivery, pregnant women have internal blood stasis and should not eat sour and astringent foods, such as black plums, lotus seeds, persimmons, pumpkins, etc., so as not to block blood circulation and hinder the discharge of lochia. Therefore, these sour and astringent foods should be eaten less or even not eaten after delivery.

2. Greasy food. The gastrointestinal function of the parturient is weak, and the amount of exercise is small. Hard, fried, pan-fried and fatty foods are not conducive to the digestion and absorption of the parturient, and often lead to indigestion. Especially within 1-2 weeks after delivery, you should eat light, easily digestible and nutritious food.

3. Too salty food. For example, pickled foods contain a lot of salt. The sodium in the salt can cause water retention, and in severe cases it can cause edema. But you should not avoid salt. Because you will urinate and sweat more after giving birth, the amount of salt excreted also increases. You need to supplement a certain amount of salt to maintain the balance of water and electrolytes.

4. Spicy food. Eating spicy foods, such as chili peppers, can easily damage body fluids, consume qi, and damage blood, aggravate qi and blood deficiency, and easily cause constipation, which is also harmful to the baby after entering the breast milk. Moreover, the mother's qi and blood are weak after giving birth. If she eats spicy food, it may cause sweating, which not only consumes qi, but also damages body fluid and blood.

5. Cold food. After childbirth, the body is deficient in qi and blood, so you should eat more warm and nourishing foods to help restore qi and blood. Eating raw or cold food after childbirth will be detrimental to the replenishment of qi and blood, easily lead to spleen and stomach digestion and absorption dysfunction, and is not conducive to the discharge of lochia and the removal of blood stasis.

We all know that confinement is a Chinese characteristic. There is no such thing in Western countries, but there are also many things to pay attention to. Whether the confinement period is done well or not affects the rest of our lives as women, so we must not put ourselves in a difficult position at this time. We should raise any ideas and needs we have, so as to avoid regretting it later if it causes any problems. Women should still treat themselves well.
