Early menstruation after IUD insertion

Early menstruation after IUD insertion

When a woman has no plans to have another child after giving birth, she must take some contraceptive measures. It is not good to use condoms for a long time, and it is easy to forget during use, which will lead to unwanted pregnancy again. Therefore, contraceptive rings have become a very common contraceptive measure. After use, it may cause irregular menstruation for a short period of time. What is going on?

Will the IUD cause early menstruation?

Generally, women need to wear an IUD after having a baby to comply with national requirements to prevent pregnancy again. However, now that the second child policy is open, it should not be necessary, but some women will still take the initiative to get an IUD for contraception. Since this is placing something that is not necessary in the female body, it will cause various discomfort symptoms in the female body and will also affect the female menstruation.

Some women will experience early menstruation after wearing the IUD, which is normal. Some other women will experience delayed menstruation or no menstruation, irregular menstrual cycles, heavy or light menstrual flow, purple-black or light red menstrual blood, or thin or thick menstrual blood, and other abnormal menstrual symptoms.

Is it normal to have your period 10 days early after having an IUD inserted?

We all know that menstruation is within the normal range if it comes within 7 days in advance, and for some women, menstruation comes 10 days in advance and is regular, which can also be considered normal. Moreover, many women will experience more or less bleeding after having an IUD inserted, which will cause their menstruation to come earlier than before. Of course, it will also cause an increase in menstrual blood volume, spotting after menstruation, and bloody vaginal discharge. Most people will gradually get better and return to normal after a period of time.

In short, if you frequently have early or irregular bleeding, it is recommended that you go to the hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department for a check-up and then treat the symptoms. If the treatment is ineffective, the IUD should be removed and other methods of contraception should be used instead.
