Darkening of the skin during late pregnancy

Darkening of the skin during late pregnancy

If a pregnant woman's skin becomes darker in the late pregnancy, it is due to the hormonal changes in the late pregnancy and has nothing to do with the baby's gender. Because of the increase in melanin in the late pregnancy and the decrease in metabolism, the body's pigment cannot be excreted. Therefore, it is normal for the skin to darken in the late pregnancy. After the delivery period, the skin will automatically recover. Pregnant women need to ensure adequate sleep.

Is it a boy if the skin turns dark during pregnancy?

1. After pregnancy, it is normal for the skin to become darker due to changes in body hormones, and it has nothing to do with the baby's gender.

2. Hormonal changes during pregnancy cause a temporary increase in melanin in the body. Melanin is a naturally occurring substance in the body that gives hair, skin and eyes their colour. A few months after delivery, the areas of pigmentation caused by pregnancy are likely to gradually fade and the skin should be able to return to its normal color. However, for some women, the spots of pregnancy will not disappear completely. This does not indicate whether the baby is a boy or a girl.

What to do if your skin becomes darker during pregnancy

1. Get enough sleep and rest. After being exposed to the sun and wind during the day, the skin needs to "rest" to replenish nutrients and repair damaged cells. Ten o'clock in the evening to four in the morning is the best time for skin rest.

2. You need to control and regulate your emotions. The skin nerves are also controlled by the brain. If you are in a bad mood or are under long-term tension, fear, depression, etc., it will lead to poor blood circulation in the skin and insufficient nutrition, making the skin pale, wrinkled, and prematurely aged.

3. Drink appropriate amounts of fruit juice, mineral water, tea, etc. to ensure that the body has sufficient water; take a bath and wash your face frequently to allow the skin to absorb moisture and stay moisturized; replenish moisture to the skin, especially the face.

After pregnancy, the pregnant woman's skin will change, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. The darkening of a pregnant woman’s skin has nothing to do with whether she is carrying a boy or a girl. Don’t be too curious about whether it is a boy or a girl. The most important thing is to take good care of the fetus. If a pregnant woman's skin becomes darker, she can take care of it, but she should not use too many skin care products to prevent the chemicals from affecting the development of the fetus.
